"Why do you like me exactly?" Jonas asked. He really didn't get it since they hardly interacted.
Felicia played with her hair and wouldn't meet his eyes. "Like I said, I think you're funny. Funny, cute, smart, a good worker when you aren't goofing off…You have a strong sense of responsibility and are good with kids too. What's not to like?"
He couldn't come up with an adequate response for that. He didn't like himself very much since his stupidity had ruined the life of his favorite person in the world but since he couldn't mention that particular detail he had nothing.
"Thanks," he ended up saying. "I'm not sure I'm the right person to give you what you want though."
She didn't seem bothered by that. "All I want for now is to be able to hang out with you more. No commitment attached. Can you do that much?"
