Jonas was relieved when Christmas break was over because Jenna had been acting down again even if she wouldn't talk about it. She seemed to perk up for a while with everything going on at school but once February hit she was depressed again and he was fairly certain he knew why.

It was worse in her case since, rather than being single incidentally the way he was, she was single because she literally was not allowed to have contact with the man she loved. He wished there was something he could do for her but he couldn't think of anything that would help.
"What are you thinking about?" Felicia Bonner, one of the other clinical lab techs on the night shift, asked when caught him spacing out.
"Valentine's Day," Jonas said truthfully. "Sorry, did you need something?"
