The dark creature approached Dante at high speed, however it was sent scurrying back by a huge fire wall. Dante had used the small time he had to create a wall between them. This did not come without a price though. Because the monster was so close to him when he did this, him and the creature got burnt badly.
"Arck!", Dante shouted in pain before touching himself.
Within a few seconds Dante was healed, however the same could not be said for the dark creature which was slowly moving away. Dante had realized early on in the fight that it had a weakness to fire, so he decided to use it to his advantage.
Seeing her partner injured, Nightmare attempted to throw daggers at Dante only to fail. She was quickly stopped by some shots to the daggers in her hands. Quickly she took cover behind a tree before moving her attention to were these shots came from. Nightmare quickly discovered she was in trouble as her major issue in this encounter had just surfaced from nowhere. It was Serena, and she did not look happy in the slightest.
The moment she saw Nightmare up in the trees, she knew that Ren had sent her to kill them. Knowing her she wouldn't refuse as she would see this as the perfect chance to repay her debt.
"Dante are you alright!", Serena asked with concern.
"Yeah I am fine, just kinda tired and blind."
"What!? Blind!?"
At that moment Serena felt terrible for not coming out to aid him when she was needed. Feeling rage rush through her body she turned to face Eric who was currently unharmed.
"It was you wasn't it."
"What!?", Eric exclaimed in confusion.
"Nightmare was unaware of our hide out. You must have led her here", Serena looked like she would snap any moment.
"Stop it Serena! He was attacked as well. Eric was almost killed, if I didn't get out on time he would have being a goner", Dante explained.
Looking at Eric carefully, she realized that he was blind as well. From everything Dante had said she had come to the conclusion that he was healed by Dante's skill 'Healing touch'. Turning her attention to the assailants in front of her, Serena had noticed that Nightmare's partner was currently healing.
'Even though they were at a serious disadvantage they still kept her at bay. Impressive', Serena thought to herself.
Not wanting to delay anymore time she told Dante to create some form of cover for them. He quickly touched the ground creating diamonds which came out of the ground. Seeing that they were safe for now, Serena let out a sigh.
"Serena, you said the name of this assassin was Nightmare. How do you know her", Dante asked a bit curious.
"Her real name is actually Debbie Miller. When I was still with Ren we had come across a High Fracture that went on a rampage. This was the first time we had ever seen a Fracture out of control like that, it even attacked it's own kind. At that moment of it's rampage it had come across a girl who was hiding in a building. She tried her best to defend herself but got injured badly instead. The High Fracture had drawn it's claw across her face leaving her with some serious scars. Ren not wanting to let her die jumped into the mix and ripped the Fracture in two. We were too late though, she had lost her eyes and even part of her jaw. That's why she wears some bandages over them. Ren decided to take her in and train her on how to survive in this world. I never thought he would turn her into some kind of weapon though."
"Wow, that's some history. Can you tell me her ability so that we can know how to handle her", Dante looked back as he heard Nightmare slowly moving from her hiding spot. "And hurry she is about to attack."
"How on Earth do you know that?"
"I am hearing her movements", Dante expression turned to dumb looking one.
"Are you saying you have super hearing now?", Serena asked trying to understand what he was saying.
"Exactly!"
Shortly after he said this, Nightmare had imbued her weapons with Nano Lites making them extra strong and sharp. She quickly tossed them to the diamond wall in front of her. The daggers pierced through the diamond wall with easy, however before it could get anyone Dante had pushed them aside. Seeing that Dante had saved them from an attack they couldn't see, she had no choice but to believe him. Serena quickly moved out of the wall's cover and proceeded to fire two shots at Nightmare. This shots ultimately missed but it had fulfilled her goal which was to buy her time to tell Dante about her ability.
"Okay listen carefully, Nightmare has a very unique and dangerous ability. She can create a monster she calls 'Shadow Crawler' to attack her preys. It usually attacks with it's sharp tentacles at speeds that are hard to keep up with. Even though Nightmare doesn't have her sight anymore, she can see use the eyes of the Shadow Crawler. This creature also has the ability to make people blind with some form of black sand, however the effects only lasts for a few hours. If the creature can't do the job, she can kill her target by using daggers and knives. She is also really good at fighting, I would say she is on par with me so it is best to avoid close combat."
Upon hearing this, Dante attempted to use his abilities to create something that could help him solve his blindness issue, however he couldn't do this as he could not see his status window.
"System, create something to help with my blindness issue."

Dante couldn't believe his ears. That black sand was capable of hindering his abilities. Seeing Dante's shocked expression, Serena had asked him what was going on. Upon hearing his explanation, she proceeded to explain something else to him.
"Oh, I forgot to tell you. That creature's black sand messes with people's abilities."
