Shockwaves spread all through the garden eventually reaching Serena and the worms she was fighting against. They had changed their tactics from ramming the tree down to eating it till it fell to the ground. When the worms noticed the shockwave they instantly stopped biting the tree and started going to the origin of these waves. Serena noticed that the waves had come from a location quite close to Dante so she became worried. The faster she took out these creatures the higher her chances of keeping him safe would be.
Serena jumped down from the huge tree and took aim at the already damage stem. She looked at the worms before looking back at the tree. On seeing their location she swiftly moved to the left firing the Nano Lites concentrated bullet at it. It immediately shattered the large stem causing it to fall in the direction of the worms. As the tree slammed against them it broke into pieces that flew all round the place, Serena even had to take cover because of this stray pieces. Even though the tree was unable to kill them it seemed as if it did a lot of damage as the worms were shrieking in pain.
Serena ran towards the worms firing concentrated shots into their mouths. As if knowing her plan the last worm covered it's mouth defecting the bullet which she had fired. Without wasting anymore time she immediately released the Nano Lites around the bullets causing an explosion within the other two worms. They began to shriek in pain until they laid on the ground completely motionless.
Serena had noticed from her fight with these creatures that they were not as dangerous as the carnivorous plants she had told Dante about. It was most likely that because of their tough crystal skin the attacks of the plants had no effect, however if you attacked their insides even a grenade could take them out.
The last remaining worm seemed to be angry at Serena as it began to charge at her, however this was all according to her plan. Very soon she would take this creature out and begin to find her way to Dante. She hoped that the shockwave from before had nothing to do with him.
Dante inspected the body of the dead worm for anything he could use. The head of the worm had been buried into the ground with greenish blue goop escaping it's body. Fragments of it's crystal skin was all around the place so he decided to pick up one of them. From what he had seen it was very likely that the crystal skin it possessed would be capable of making good armor, however that was something that he would have to do later. Right now his major priority was to find Serena and help her in anyway he could.
Following the sounds of destruction from the distance, Dante began to run forward until he was eventually half way to her location. He gave out had gasps for air before trying to run once again, however this time he was stopped in his tracks the moment he heard some rustles in the tree nearby. Turning around he witnessed something jump out of it. At first he was afraid of what it was but when he looked closer he identified a structure he felt safer around.
"Serena?", Dante said a little bit unsure of what was going on.
Bang!
Loud sounds of collisions could be heard from a distance. Serena was having a hard time dealing with the worm like creature in front of her. It was as if it had learnt from the death of it's brothers. No matter what she did, it seemed to always avoid it.
"Come on just die already!", Serena shouted a little bit pissed off now.
As if understanding what she said the creature gave out a loud shriek, one that was loud enough to stun her. The creature tried to use this opportunity to take her out with one swift bite but she jumped to a tree opposite them with her superior agility taking her time to catch her breath.
The battle had become so intense that they had shattered the surrounding trees around them causing the bluish air around the planet to reveal itself. This was not exactly what Serena wanted, however it was still turning out to be a good thing. Now she had more Nano Lites in the environment to use.
The worm used multiple bites to take down the tree causing it to tumble over. Serena used this opportunity to pick up a pebble of rock on the floor while running away. The worm gave chase following her through the decimated region. She quickly hopped unto another huge tree shooting at the worm. She was quite aware it did nothing to the creature at this point, however she had noticed that it usually grabbed their attention and this was something that she wanted at the moment.
The stone she had picked up was currently being imbued with a large amount of Nano Lites. All she needed was time and it seemed like she would get what she wanted. The worm bit on the tree but unlike the other ones this tree's stem was huge so it was likely it would take forever to bring it down. After about 2 minutes, Serena tossed the stone at the worms head releasing the Nano Lites she had stored in it. This resulted in a powerful explosion that caused the creature to shriek in pain. Using her opportunity she shot a bullet into it's mouth before releasing the Nano Lites stored in it. The worm could feel sharp pains within itself before it became motionless on the ground.
"Finally!", Serena said before jumping off the tree.
Looking around, she had recognized the damage that had been done to the environment. She hoped that the garden would return to how it once was, however for now the trees in the environment was a little bit adequate for their protection. Remembering the shockwave that had occured some minutes ago, Serena began to run towards the direction she had left Dante. She hoped no harm had come to him while she was away.
