Chapter 8 - 8

Lucifer disappeared from sight as soon as the door to their shared room closed. Raven didn't care. She was still struggling to process everything that had transgressed over the last few hours.

A knock at the door pulled derailed her train of thought. She opened the door, only to be confronted by the blond deity.

"I see my little sister has already given up on trying to convince you to join her side. She is making this too easy. It takes some of the fun out of this but rest assured princess, I'll find a way to keep this entertaining enough for the both of us. So, are you going to invite in or has my sissy given you a no visitor policy?" Angelica was more amused by her words than the freshly washed orphan was. She definitely was not "princess".

She stepped aside for cleaned dressed goddess to enter. Angelica stood in the centre of the dimly lit room and studied every wall. It was like this was her first time stepping into her own sister's bedroom.

"Have you not seen Lucifer's room before?" Raven voiced her curiosity.

The dirty blonde goddess looked over her shoulder and grinned.

"I don't come to this side of the building often. My side is far prettier than this crypt. In fact, that is why I am here - to give you a tour of the light side," she winked at the orphan and swiftly linked her arms with Raven's before dragging the new victor out the door. Raven did not even fight her at this point.

They zipped through a maze of corridors until they reached a giant glass door at the end of an over illuminated hallway. The difference between the two doorways mirrored the differences of the sisters themselves. Where Lucifer's entire aura reached of internalised stoicism and Nordic leather, her sister radiated high-end fashionista vibes that should be reserved for Tumblr. The only thing that seemed to link the two together was their eery purple gaze. Who the fuck had purple eyes anyway?

Raven was amazed by how much attention she paid to the sisters' appearance. She was never one to pay attention to others ... except for Sage. She was the first person she remembered taking the time to admire. Most people passed by her in a continuous blur but not Sage. Sage stood out and now, so did the sisters.

On the other side of the door, was a room that was almost as blinding as the room Artemin had placed her in.

"Can you warn a girl next time you open the door to the sun," She groaned and shielded her eyes against the harsh light.

"Oh right, I suppose this light would be a lot to handle after spending all your time in that crypt those dark freaks call home," She chuckled and continued to drag the cringing girl along with her. Raven supposed it was high time that she did spend some time in the light. She did die after all. Seeing the light was a rite of passage for the dead. Although she did not intend to stay dead for long. She needed to race back to a place where she still had a pulse and where Sage was safe in her arms. For now, she would have to brave the fluorescent lighting.

"Welcome to the Light side!" Angelica let go of my arm and widened her arms dramatically as if advertising the room.

"It's clean," the orphan wasn't a fan of obnoxiously clean places. It reminded me of overly polite people who snickered and made fun of everyone when their victims turned their backs to the snobby society. Also, the orphan was usually the one doing the cleaning. She did not need those kinds of standards hanging over her head.

"It's clean? Well, yes. Is that really the only response you can muster?" She was grinning at me with a curious glint in her eyes.

She proceeded with her little tour. She explained that the light side held the facilities best and brightest and that fact hand ensured their victory over the course of the many tournaments. She failed to elaborate on the tournament, despite Raven's queries. She continued with her tour as if she hadn't heard the scowling girl's questions at all. The light side was decked out with everything one could hope for in an elaborate containment facility. It had a Spar room and a private chef with all the benefits of a spacious recreational room. It was, in all honesty, heaven in hell.

Their tour concluded at the end of another brightly lit corridor. Angelica stopped in front of the door and turned on her heels to face her curious guest.

"Prepare yourself, gorgeous. Behind this door, lies the real reason for the light sides victory and the reason why you will ultimately refuse to even acknowledge let alone align yourself with the Dark when you have to make your final decision."

Raven waited with bated breath at the goddess turned the doorknob.
