Chapter 24 - 23        HIS MOVE ( 2)

ILIYA NARA POV

It can't be!! I must be dreaming!!

I flabbergasted and fluttered my eyes in disbelief. I even pinched my own cheek. Ouch!!

Ok! He's real…

"Miss Iliya?"

He's calling my name once again while I'm still stunned on my spot. Standing in awe because of his mesmerizing look as always.

"Mr Monav Mokshit?"

"W…Wh…What are you doing here?" I stuttered and utterly blurted that question. This area totally in contrary for this kind of majestic appearance like him.

"Oh…." He smirked amusedly and walked a step closer at her.

"The answer is easy…."

"I'm hungry, Miss Iliya."

"By the way, have you taken your dinner yet?"

I spontaneously shook my head and his lips smiling even wider.

"What a wonderful coincidence, let's have dinner together, shall we?"

MONAV MOKSHIT POV

I lied. I did see her before and I deliberately cut off the line so I may have a chance to have a word with her. Why? Because I'm running out of time. I have spent hundreds year for chasing and hunts down the bloodline of Hara Anu and she was the last one. The end of redemption. The final point of my accomplishment. I can't let her go from my sight.

Never.

The car finally brings them to an exquisite restaurant outside the city. One of the finest indeed. Once they stopped, the driver opened the door for them both and they got out from the car. Iliya let out a loud gasp from her mouth when she saw this place.

This restaurant was mesmerizing beautiful and built up elegantly in a highest area in the city so from the uphill, they are able to see the whole night scenery from a far. A million of stars from the crisp city lights. It's wonderfully magical and hypnotizing.

"We'll have dinner here, Miss Iliya. I hope you like it…" Monav Mokshit said those words with an apologetic look. Thinking that he might be had made a wrong decision but oppositely, Iliya shook her head and smile broadly.

"No, Mr Monav Mokshit. This is perfect!"

"I would never thought that you will bring me in such a place like this. Even if I worked so hard for the rest of my life, I can't afford to dine in here…" Iliya explained it honestly to the man who stood next to her now.

Monav Mokshit chuckled lightly and giggled to her innocent words. If things were different and she wasn't his prey, he would like to have a real date and dinner with this girl. She's truly kind-hearted and gentle. Her eyes were genuinely honest as if telling a lie would be her greatest mistake that at least, she could do.

But, he has to focus himself and unwavering. Keep steady on his own mission. Killing her.

"Shall we?"

Monav Mokshit stretched out his hand and Iliya put her hand in his. Letting him guiding and walked them both into the restaurant.

...........................….

In the next fifteen minutes….

Okay, fine. I'm dead!

Iliya has been staring on the menu that she's holding now in an awe. She even had lost count how many times that she inhaled and exhaled frustratedly inwardly. All menus were written in French, for God's sake!!

How even she can make an order if she doesn't know how to read it?

Oh nooooooo…..

Iliya almost cried in fountain tears while suddenly, Monav Mokshit who had paying attention at her, asked in a soft voice.

"Is there something wrong, Miss? You have been staring at it for some while but you haven't placed any order yet…"

"I…." Iliya's face flustered in deep red like a ripened tomato but her growling stomach forced her to tell the truth.

"I… don't speak French, Mr Monav Mokshit. I don't even know how to read them…"

She finally blurted it out shyly but answered by a smile on Monav.

"Okay, let me order it for you then…"

Soon, he called the waiter and spoke in fluent French with him. In less than three minutes, he had done made order for them both.

"Thank you so much, Mr Monav Mokshit…" Iliya sincerely expressed her gratitude towards him.

"You're welcome, Miss Iliya…"

"So, while we're waiting our meal to be served. Would you mind to share some of your stories, perhaps? A story of your childhood?"

"Please… I really need a good talk here. Otherwise, I'd died bored…"

Iliya giggled and replied to him. "Okay, Sir…"

Then, in the next minutes, she opened her mouth and started her stories.

Even after their food is ready and served it on the table, Iliya still keep talking and Monav Mokshit still listening to her attentively. Unexpectedly, with her company, their meal time feels so pleasant and enjoyable. Iliya, beyond his imagination, is a good storyteller. While she speaking, she also add some gestures like moving her hands or use her uncanny expression to make her stories believable and more entertaining. Monav Mokshit also seems very relaxed and laughed lightly during their meal time. Never, in his personal thought, that the coincidence that he deliberately created would lead him to this circumstance but he didn't regret it.

Until then, when both of their hands coincidentally touched one another while they want to take each wine glass…

Shortly, in the next millisecond, Iliya saw a glimpse…

.......................................

The night sky is red. Everything burned in great flames. Bloody corpses are everywhere. They were mutilated miserably. Bones crushed. Their bodies ripped out and torn almost in each area inside that burning house. Or mansion?

She wasn't sure.

But, no one was alive and she could see Monav Mokshit is wrapped someone in his arms tightly. She is a girl. And she's dead. In that scene, inside the house, he is whimpered sadly with tears flooding out from his eyes like a stream. He looks so much in pain and grief.

ZAP!

Iliya jolted up in shock and back to reality when Monav Mokshit also pulled his hand nervously.

The glimpse…

That was the part of his dark past and she can seep into it easily.

How?

That's the question that resound inside his mind now. He always really good in self-control and just now, he unexpectedly let his defense down for no reason. Or maybe he just carried away?

By her innocence. By her genuine stories. By her sincere look.

No…no no… this is not good at all. He has been calmed and well-guarded his feeling and emotion deeply in such a perfect manner. He can't ruin it now.

"What was that?" Iliya blurted out the question all of sudden. And make him turned his head at once.

"It was you, right? The one who inside the burning house? The one who holds the dead girl in his arms?"

A great shock has clearly seen all over his face and for a slight, his face turned pale as white as paper.

"Mr Monav Mokshit…" Iliya addressed his name once again in a soft tone carefully. Afraid that she might have crossed the line. A prohibited one.

"Is that really you?"
