Chapter 24 - Falling for the Fallen (Part 6)

Waking up to the light shining through the window he flinched as he looked up to her shadow.

"Angel?"

"..."

"... Iris"

Turning to face him, she looked exhausted and the tear stains still scarred her face. Sitting up he smothered her in his arms as she failed to struggle out of it.

"You don't remember me do you?" he nervously asked.

"What about you?" she glared at him, "You knew, for how long have you known and not told me?!"

"What do you mean? Lets not pretend that you'd actually believe me." he looked down at his hands as though his guilt had stained them.

"But-!"

They both looked at each other knowing arguing about who was right and wrong wouldn't get them anywhere.

"So what now?"

"I don't know..."

"Do you still hate me?" he whimpered tearing at her wavering heart.

"Hah!" she laughed at his selfishness, "after everything you've done despite knowing who I was!"

He swallowed the guilt down with his selfish desire to take her.

Lowering her head and glaring at him through loose strands of hair she smirked, "you really are a fool, aren't you?"

"What?" he choked.

"Astar. You took the fall, for me. I'm over you holding me hostage but I'll never forgive you for taking revenge for me and in doing so receiving the punishment of hell... You abandoned me Astar," the pain in her eyes was evident and only tore at his heart more" ...but I don't hate you. I hate myself for forgetting you." she looked away from his face to the windows.

"... I'm sorry Iris. I couldn't stand the way the humans were treating you their greed is beyond comparison and... " he looked at her darkened face," if I were to go back in time, I'd do the same thing again."

She gritted her jaw before shooting him a glare that displayed her anger, betrayal and sadness all together.

" I...didn't know God would react like that. " he wasn't lying but it wasn't the complete truth.

" You know and I know God had a relationship with humans we angels will never understand, " she sighed "we also know the village you set about taking your revenge was the same village that God's lover resided."

"I didn't harm those that were not involved. I was angry but I am not a tyrant, I merely wanted to send a message not to harm our kind and remind them punishments await dogs that bite their masters and providers."

"But at what price! We both lost our connection and past. We were seperated for ten thousand years. Surely you can imagine how much pain I'm in now..." exasperated she buried her head in her hands.

"I know I felt like that for the past six months. Wishing every second of every day that you would remember. Do you realise how much I prayed you'd wake up and say my name?!"

"..." she gulped. He'd been hiding this from her for that long and she had no idea.

" I'm sorry I kept it secret but I've given you no reason to believe me. Please don't leave me now after everything we've gone through. I'll not survive any longer without you by my side." he begged holding her small hands in his.

"I... Don't know where we go from here though."

"We can start over, a fresh start. I don't care but please don't leave!" he had a sort of crazed look in his eyes which she could only see as desperation.

"Hahh..." she knew he'd never leave her for as long as she existed on any plain be it heaven, hell or earth.

"Come on iris, we've came so far. I've only got you in my life! If you go what do I have to live for? " he was serious about this she was his only source of purpose in life without her he'd be living on mindlessly like he had done for the last ten thousand years only now he'd know what he was missing.

"You think I'm any different. I'm conflicted on who you are to me, you were once my lover who I'd die for but your also a deranged demon capable or severing of my wing and chaining me in your house." she looked at her surroundings.

"We can start over and I'll try harder to be the man you want. I'll never hurt you again I swear!"

"It doesn't change the past though!" she lost it with him, "you're not thinking straight when you're with me. Do you think I want to leave you!? Of course not! But when you do these things it drives me insane! I feel crazy for being in love with you!"

"What?" his face went blank as her final words replayed in his head, "you love me?"

Nodding she looked away blushing from the embarrassment.

"Still?"

"... Yes" she whispered so quiet as for him not to hear but his desperation to have her let him.

Jumping forward he grabbed her wrists pinning them slightly above her head as she lied messy haired on the mattress. His eyes glowed red with lust and danger which she seemed to be falling deeper and deeper into.

"Wh-what are you doing?" she murmered still looking him straight in the eyes while barely tugging her arms away, "Astar."

He leaned in slowly spreading her legs with his own watching to see if she'd push him off. She didn't. Her lips parted and the pink hue spread from her lips to her cheeks as he brushed his fingertips over her ears.

"Astar?" she whispered nervously unaware the sound of his name from her lips shot down his body like electricity straight to his erection.
