"Where did you find something so magnificent?" a man in a black suit gazed up at the water filled tank as a glimmering tail swished past his face.
"She was found lying on a beach with a broken flipper torn by a shark apparently," he also glanced over before turning towards the desk opposite to grab ahold of some documents, " Luckily she can still swim, however it would be too dangerous for her to go out into the wild again. I opted to buy her for a small sum as she would otherwise be put down. It was quite lucky as she really is... magnificent."
"I get what you mean how could they dare to put something so graceful down. Her coat is pure white, like snow it glistens where the light hits..." glancing around, he tapped his chin at the man engrossed with the work at his desk, "how much?"
"Haha! She's not for sale." although he laughed his eyes didn't, a cold aura filled the room and his fingers suddenly began tapping the desk.
"Surely! -"
"Mr. Fogart! May I remind you this was strictly a business meeting, I'm sure you are well aware of what happens to those who covet my possessions." his stern glare silenced the room as all that could be heard was the seal splashing in the water behind.
"... I'm aware. It won't happen again Mr. Vincent" his head lowered as he walked away from the glass.
" You need to sign this document to go ahead with business proposal and the funding for the project will be gradually transferred over to you account monthly. This is to ensure that progress is being made at the schedule you estimated if not all the funding will be haulted and any extra losses will be charged minimum annual interest, " Vincent smiled bitterly as he tilted his head slightly,"... as I am a fair man. "
" Y-yes sir rest assured the plan will go ahead smoothly, no doubts at all. "Fogarty rambled as he slid the document over and signed it quickly.
" I jest, " Vincent retrieved the document looking it up and down before waving his arm signalling the exit of Fogarty.
" B-bye Sir it was a pleasure-"
A sharp look shot up at Fogarty as he went quiet and scuttled out from the room.
Standing up, Vincent walked over to the tank and tapped on the glass luring over the chirping seal as she rubbed her side on the glass. As she did his face melted and a small smiled formed at the corner of his mouth, resting his head on the glass.
"Your the only one who is always by my side and isn't trying to stab me in the back. Hah, probably because you can't express it..." he sighed as the seal disappeared from the glass.
His gaze lowered as he felt even animals were starting to despise him. Ever since he was a child everyone ignored and envied him, but at the core of it all was pure hatred.
" I guess you can't even stand me now..." turning around, he felt a cold hand slide up the side of his face. Stunned, he looked down at a pale skinned girl with gleaming white hair and dark hollow eyes.
Averting his gaze, he coughed as he noticed she had came into his office naked. Taking off his jacket, he wrapped it around her shoulders as he assumed someone had paid her to seduce him. The corporate rats were still trying to set him up for a scandal and take his position.
"You don't have to do this, I'll pay you double whatever they were going to pay. Triple if you tell me who it was who hired you." he pitifully looked down at the girl who stared at her hands as they slid through the holes in the jacket.
Lifting them up she clenched and relaxed her fists before rubbing both her palms together. Confused he grabbed her chin to look at her eyes, suspecting she may have been drugged.
"You seem fine... But why are you behaving so strangely," he muttered as she tapped his forehead with hers before grinning mischievously.
Looking at her eyes more closely he felt they were familiar to his seal. Spinning around he looked at his empty tank scanning the water for movement. Stillness followed as he searched for a few minutes.
"W-where did she go? S-silkie!?" furiously turning around he grabbed the girls shoulders as she copied the movement.
"Silkie!?" she repeated trying to mimick him.
"What do you know about her? Where is she? Were you paid to be a diversion?!" he rambled as her eyes widened slowly.
"?" she tilted her head in confusion as she lifted her hand up to his cheek again, "Silkie."
"No! I'm not Silkie! Where is Silkie and why are you acting like your high?!" he ranted, pushing her off onto a couch as he stormed over to his desk picking up the phone.
Listening in, she heard little beeps as he held the object close to his ear, eventually another voice called out and the man began shouting again.
" I don't care! Search for her whether she's dead or alive and bring her back to me!" he yelled as his assistant flusteredly agreed to the mission.
Hanging up, he stormed over to the girl who was lying back on the couch with her legs in the air as she wiggled her toes individually. Shocked at her ability, he paused but quickly resumed as he pushed her legs back down onto the couch and glared at her.
"Who do you work for!?" he interrogated as she gulped in fear. She hadn't had to face this side of her owner before and used her experience of watching similar situations to reply.
"This organisation sir!" she confidently stated not knowing exactly what it meant only everytime his employees responded that way he would let them off.
Rubbing his chin, he wondered what she meant. Sparks lit up in his eyes as he realised she meant it was an insider who had ordered it, "Who was it that told you to do this?"
She'd also heard this question before and replied again with little understanding, "My superior?"
"Huh?!" he questioned as he felt he was getting somewhere but very slowly.
"Emmm s-superior..." she kept mumbling as she tried to remember if there was a response to 'huh?!', "Oohh..."
"what?" puzzled at her rapidly changing expressions he clicked his fingers. Hurriedly she knelt on the floor.
"Sorry! Sorry sir! I didn't do it sir! It wasn't me, I bet it was xx group." she poured out as his eyes glazed over in confusion.
'What is she on about and why is it like a recording of everyone who messes up filing the paperwork? Does she even know what she's talking about?'
Looking up slowly to see if he was less angry she found his face was blank in thought. She had no idea what she was talking about but guessed it would stop him yelling.
"Wow..." he paused as he rubbed his temples in stress," okay I give up *sigh* just leave."
He signaled the door and she glanced around upset at being dismissed. Depressingly, she padded over to the door looking back pitifully as she opened it and left.
"What the hell is up with people nowadays. I need to have a shake up in employment strategies." sitting onto the couch he laid back exhausted at the day that had only just began.
