Chapter 25 - Awakening

"Hello my beloved son."

Rain smiled. He liked her usage of words. Since coming to this world and experiencing various forms of love, he had come to notice a pattern.

For people like An, her definition of him would be 'a friend.' She wasn't possessive, but if she could help him without drawbacks, she would do so.

For people like Na, her definition of him would be 'my rival.' Notice the usage of my, indicating possessiveness. It wasn't bad, just meant that she valued him highly and would protect him, not at the cost of something she loved, but she would be willing to sacrifice some things for him. Rain enjoyed her company and didn't mind her possessiveness.

Then their were people like his sister and mother. Using terms like 'my brother' and 'my beloved son,' they indicated their possessive nature and love for him. They would sacrifice basically anything. The word beloved or some adjective indicated this. His sister got an excuse not to add the adjective as she was a kuudere, but he knew by just saying my, she was acting very similar to his mother.

Such was the rating he developed for himself, and the basis he would use to determine varying levels of affections, as he did not have the highest EQ and didn't want to make mistakes in determining the range of feelings. Terms like beloved is where things got dangerous.

Rain patted his mother's back, indicating his willingness to let her cling, which she gladly did. He looked past her, to his sister who lay on the bed, looking at him. Over the years, he had come notice her emotions that lay deep in her eyes, despite the lack of expression on her face. He could tell she was very relieved and very annoyed. Relieved by his presence and annoyed by their mother.

"Best of luck."

Hui nodded. That was all that needed to be said. She knew he meant it.

Hui's back arched as she grimaced slightly. Seeing this, Rain pulled his mother away and watched from the doorway. It was about to get a bit heated and Jing, especially would have trouble dealing with the environment she was about to generate.

Activating a physique was a process, unlike awakening which was just coming of age and starting cultivating. It would not just affect the cultivator, but also the world around the cultivator.

Lightning started to crackle as pure, electric blue rose from Hui's body. It had to be painful, but she endured. Her brother was watching... and waiting. Electricity danced around the room, raising the hairs on Rain's arms. Jing looked back, she wasn't cruel enough to remain obsessed with her son at this moment. She didn't care for her like she did Rain, but Hui was still her daughter and was worthy of attention, especially at this difficult time.

Rain watched, unconcerned with the events. He trusted his sister enough to awaken. She was certainly prepared.

Slowly, after several minutes, the electricity and lightning subsided and Hui's expression relaxed. She had successfully awakened her physique and was now on the path cultivating.

Rain smiled, though only slightly. This awakening also signaled his departure, something he had yet to inform his mother and sister about.

However, for today, he would put that on hold. He wasn't in a rush and he had decided to allow his sister and mother to dote on him, if only for the rest of today, before he left.

Both his Hui and Jing had changed. Jing was the same appearance wise, though this was actually the most significant thing about her that had changed. Jing had decided to cultivate.

Jing was actually capable of cultivation. She didn't have horrible talent, but she only did so sparsely back when she was with the king, as she believed wholeheartedly in his protection. She didn't see the use, but her children had changed that. She had started cultivating in recent years, and though she was still relatively weak, it allowed her to maintain her glow. She looked to be in her thirties, but she would still entrance any weak willed man. She had blonde hair and a gentle gaze, with a motherly aura and sky blue eyes. She possessed large assets and long legs to complete the picture as she wrapped herself in a robe.

Hui had also changed. She had grown. She was still pretty short about 5 feet tall, but she was still in her growing phase as she had started puberty only recently. She had electric blue hair and eyes that seemed to spark. Her hair was ragged and cut short, and she maintained an apathetic gaze for the most part. She had a lithe, dancers body, one that showed that she had trained in combat, and her chest was only just beginning to protrude outwards. She preferred tight clothes that were easy to move around in, so she typically wore pants and a tight shirt that highlighted her still growing figure.

"Brother..."

Rain looked at his sister, before detaching Jing from his body. She was getting handsy and intoxicated, so he didn't feel bad about replacing her for the moment as he walked over to his sisters and, taking off his hat, lay down on the bed.

Immediately, Hui lay on top of him, using her fingers to poke and prod his cheeks. She had only come to love him more as the years went by, though this was not Rain's intention, and her greatest joy was being able to manipulate his body as she groped him, similarly to their mother. Once again, the actions weren't sexual... yet. Hui was only just beginning to grow in that area, though she was well educated due to Rain not wanting her to be naive. He explained everything from an early age, so as to not cause confusion.

"It's fine, I don't mind. It's your birthday after all."

Hearing this, Hui let out a radiant smile... internally. Her eyes were typically the only thing that noticeably changed nowadays.

She nodded,

"...Thanks."

She was going to snuggle to her hearts content... though it would seem she wasn't the only one.

'It's going to be a long day.'

This was the only thought in Rain's head as he heard the protests of his mother and the rebuttals of his sister echo in his now empty head.
