As I pull into the parking lot of Smile Best Dentistry. I park my baby blue BMW. I walk in to a room full of women. There's no surprise that Dr. Felix main patients are women. The receptionist checks me in and I take a seat. I scroll through my social media as I wait.
I'm called back into the room and the hygienist places the bib around my neck and tells me Dr. Felix will be with me soon.
A few moments later Dr. Felix enters the exam room, looking more delicious than I have ever thought. You're married! I yelled to remind myself.
"Good morning, Katrina. How are you doing?" He asks. His voice is deep, and sounds melodic.
"I'm well. Thank you. How have you been?" I ask him.
"I've been good." He says before sighing a bit sadly, but before I can say anything he begins to talk once more. Well, let's have look at your teeth, shall we?"
While inspecting my teeth I see him looking concerned. His brows furrow, and he starts clicking his teeth.
"Oh my. This doesn't look good." Dr. Felix says looking into my mouth. I can't say anything so I look at him with concern. "You have a cavity here. I can't believe we haven't caught it before." He continued. "Do you have time today to take care of it? Nod yes or no." I nod yes. "Good, I'll go get everything set up." He gets up and removes the mouth guard holding my mouth open. Without another word, he leaves the room.
I send a text to Charles letting him know I won't be back before he heads to work. Dr. Felix returns and sits back on his stool.
"Okay Katrina, I'm going to give you some numbing meds, then I'll go about filling your cavity. Do you have any questions?"
"No, I'm okay."
"Great," He puts my thigh. "I always knew you'd be a tough one." He winks at me.
He places the mouth guard back in my mouth and gives me the shots. He talks at me for a few minutes and the world begins to slowly fade black.
