I woke but couldn't feel anything in my body.
The grogginess was unsettling as if I'd slept too long, and I worried the spell had forced me to stay under. Was that why I couldn't feel my body? Had I laid in the bed for days? Even the pain didn't register, and for a brief moment, I panicked, reaching for my belly, relieved to find it still abnormally huge. I was still pregnant, but was I no longer in labor?
