Ivan
There was no music.
I've come home to Nefera's music playing for the last few days. She liked listening to music while working, but there was nothing today. Her car wasn't here either, so I wondered if she was at the packhouse. Should I head that way or wait for her? It was safer to be here since the protective magic around the property was finished. It wouldn't stop everyone from spying or using magic, but it was a defense we didn't have before.
"What are you doing here?" I got out when I noticed the familiar woman sitting on my porch. She was reading a book, her blonde hair in a ponytail. "I thought you'd left."
"My flight isn't until tonight," Mary closed her book, setting it on her lap. "I came to say goodbye."
"You could've done that at the coven house," I hadn't seen her when I left, but she'd been there when I arrived last night. "Are you here to see Nefera?"
"I am," She smiled, "She's on her way. I called her earlier."
