"We're done?" I blinked as the tray was taken away from me. "But I didn't do anything."
"You did," Howard, the necromancer running the tests for today, grinned, covering the dead bird with the lid before setting it aside. "That was the last one, and we're done early."
"Are you serious?" Of all the tasks I'd been asked to do, today's had been the most straightforward yet the most frustrating.
Everything about the discipline was different from what I'd expected. For one, there was Howard. When you think of a necromancer, you imagine a dark-cloaked figure who gives off an evil vibe. That wasn't Howard at all. He came in wearing an Avenger t-shirt and slacks. He smiled a lot and talked the entire time. It wasn't about what we were doing, which would've made sense.
Instead, he wanted to discuss football and hockey, two subjects I was happy to discuss.
