"This is not a good idea," Odie grumbled, tapping her fingers on her thigh, watching the mountains. "We shouldn't be leaving the territory."
"You could've stayed at the house," I sighed, turning to another road, hoping I was going the right way. "You didn't have to come."
"Yeah, and leave you on your own?" she scoffed, turned to question Alister, who was pinned under my brother. "She acts like she doesn't find trouble going through a drive-thru."
"That's a genetic trait!" Alister pushed Vishnu's head away because my brother was busy slobbering on him. What was worse, he thought it was funny. "They've both got that in common."
"What was Nefera like before all this? I mean, you knew her." I was curious about that, too, but I'd been afraid to ask. "I mean, don't go into detail in case she has an attack, but vague. Was she nerdy or popular?"
