"Have you lost your mind?" I thought Vince would be the one who spoke out about our plans, but it turned out to be my father. He was pacing, his voice as calm as water on a nice day, but I could feel his agitation. "You can't seriously be thinking of falling for the trap."
Instead of answering, I stay silent. No matter what anyone said, I couldn't change my mind. Not only because I didn't have a choice but because I wouldn't allow anyone to tell me what to do. Even though that sense from last night was gone, part of it was still with me. That power awakened something new inside me, and I can't deny that I like it more than I should.
It feels…good.
