'She's fine,' My father chuckles at my immediate response. I know what he's thinking. I left as a bachelor and returned as a dad. 'I have her downstairs with me.'
'What's wrong?' I demand, sitting in bed, trying not to wake Nefera up.
'The council is trying to get into your office,' Dad sighs. 'Don't worry. Steven and Vince are keeping them out, but you'd better get down here before your cousin loses his temper.'
