"Oh fuck! How are we explaining this to the humans?" Cabe muttered, watching the footage with me. "There is no way we can cover that up!"
"Just be grateful no one got hurt," Vince sighed, pausing the TV. "I don't think Zoe could handle it if she'd killed someone. At least not this way. How did it happen? She couldn't do any magic yesterday!"
It was true.
Yesterday, Zoe was still going through the exercises, and there were no signs of her awakening any magic. She'd been getting closer but not there yet. What changed? Something triggered her magic, but I hadn't had a chance to talk to her yet. When she called me, I worried more about keeping her calm and safe. She was supposed to be brought here to me, but James and Bailey were dealing with the school, so that might take a little longer. She should be switching to homeschooling after this.
