"Here," Sati handed me the plate of food but tried to move away as I took it. "You need to eat."
"Hey," I grabbed her arm and pulled her into my lap as I set the plate on the chair beside me. "Thank you…"
"For what?" she blinked, a few strands of hair covering her eyes. "For getting you food?"
"Yeah… and for… all of it."
We sat outside one of the smaller buildings at the third gate, getting as much fresh air as possible in a world without it. Campé decided that Jushion and I were 'too full of ourselves,' her words, not mine, and we needed a break before we finished the meeting. So, she sent us all out and told us to get something to eat and cool off. We were also told to stay away from each other until she summoned us again. That had been over an hour ago, and we were still waiting.
"What did you see?" Sati sat up so she could focus on me, but it was my turn to avert my gaze. "What did Campé give you back?"
