We were in the middle of the road, the lines only known to supernaturals by scent, unique markers, and long-time education to everyone in our tribes. "I'm glad you got the black windows. They won't know it's us until we're in."
"Get ready," I warned, prepared to feel magic shifts. I could feel it, which I imagined they had some idea about because of Jake. "We don't know what they've got waiting for us."
"Look who's there," Taylor muttered angrily, pointing out the lieutenant in the lead as I slowed the truck down. "Who has their beast's marks tattooed on their arms? It's like waving a flag around."
