"Alpha!" I stopped walking, staring at the cop car as it pulled up beside me. "Everything alright?"
"Oh gods," Nefera muttered, burying her head in my shoulder. "This is embarrassing."
"Yeah, we're good," I smiled, holding Nefera's legs tighter. "Just walking."
As much as I wanted to stay in our cave, we couldn't. It wasn't as late as I'd thought, only eleven, but I wanted to grab Pen-Pen and at least enjoy the majority of my mate's birthday with our family. Unfortunately, walking is the only way back to civilization since I didn't drive last night. However, Nefera's legs were still jelly, which I was being arrogantly proud of, so walking wasn't the easiest thing for her, which was why I was carrying her.
"Luna?" My wolf tried to get Nefera's attention, and she slowly turned to face the werewolf.
"Hi, Russel," She tried to make her voice sound casual, but the redness of her cheeks wasn't helping. "How are you?"
