"Don't get embarrassed," Gently grabbing my arm, Maddy pulled me back toward her. "You and I never had any subject that was off limits. I know you don't remember, but your soul does, and here, your mind is not as important."
"You never told me about Ivan," I counter. I wasn't trying to be resentful, but that was still a big wall between us. It was something that went beyond my memory and thoughts. It felt more profound than that. A hurt that wasn't so quickly let go.
"No," Was it wrong that I felt slightly satisfied that I saw guilt in her eyes? Yes, but I still felt justified in that hurt. "I know I can't undo what's done, and I meant what I said. It was never meant to be permanent. The plan was to let the two of you meet when you turned eighteen."
