I felt like I was running against the current.
It took everything in me not to slow down, but I still couldn't keep up with Diederick. His magic pulled from the trees and the air itself. I knew that because the more I focused, the easier it was to see the strange tendrils of energy that surrounded everything. I saw the waves of the spell flow from him, even as he ran and how it connected to that energy, taking from it and feeding itself. It was beautiful and terrifying at the same time, and I wouldn't know where to start.
The thought of learning to control magic scares me.
I know how to fight, throw a punch, shoot, stab and kill, but this was so complex I don't know if I have it in me to learn without losing control as I did. I couldn't have Nefera pulling me back every time. Still, right now, I can't focus on that. I have to catch this son of a bitch. Adam didn't tell Diederick where Liz was, but I can't take the chance that I'm wrong.
