"You okay?" Ivan whispers, wrapping his arms around me and resting his chin on my shoulder.
I had to take a break. I'd left Liz with Freddy a few minutes ago to get us some coffee and make Liz something to eat. That was the excuse I gave her, but honestly, I needed to process what I'd heard before listening to the rest. Truthfully, I was grateful Renee was upstairs, and Trevor had her unconscious. I don't know how much she knows about her daughters' secrets, but it's too late to find out now. It was bad enough Liz had carried the burden of all this on her own. No wonder she was the way she was. I would be, too, if I had that sort of responsibility to bear.
"This doesn't seem to be getting simpler." Turning around, I press my forehead on his chest. "This would be so much easier if all of you believed in therapists."
