Something's pulling me from my sleep. The last thing I want is to wake up. Still, my body keeps insisting I return to the conscious world as my mind's pulled away from blissful darkness—the cause of my need to rouse turns in my arms, throwing her leg over my hip. I love that she does that.
Before opening my eyes, I let my soul reach out for my mate, and a sense of completion washes over me at the touch of her essence. Every cell in my body tingles in excitement at the knowledge that Nefera is beside me. As long as that's the truth, there's nothing else I need.
Truthfully, I don't remember when we fell asleep. The last thing I recall was grabbing the blanket off the bed when Nefera's eyes started drooping. After that, there was only serenity. There weren't any nightmarish thoughts before I dozed off, and my dreams were nothing but peaceful.
