David doesn't say anything. Maybe he realized what he'd said aloud, or he was waiting to see what I did, but I didn't know.

David's words stung, and it was hard to look past them. Everything inside of me wanted to take it to heart, and I wasn't sure if I wouldn't do that. Still, it seemed reckless to do it in front of me.
The problem I had now was, did I read more into that, or did I take David at face value?
