I wish I could say all of this was boring, but it's actually fascinating. 

"So, the term Luna isn't just because it's Spanish for the moon?" I put the book down. 

"No," Ava smiles. "It has older roots than that. Granted. The terms change as language and culture do, but to the werewolf, the word Luna comes from Latin."

"But, Luna means moon, and Alpha is just the greek word for A. That doesn't seem fair." I frown. "It's uneven."

"Ivan was right," Ava looks at Monica, who's grinning. "You are very clever."

Trying not to feel embarrassed that Ivan talks about me like that, I shift my weight, my hand on Pen-Pen, so she doesn't fall. We were in the packhouse library. A room on the ground floor with an impressive collection of books. 

"How about a quick history lesson?" Ava takes my book, setting it down on the side table. "I think it'll help make more sense of things."

"Okay," I nod and lift Penelope into my arms.
