"I feel like I've worked out in a gym for days," I grumble, taking a seat on the bed again.

"The price of magic, I'm afraid," Mary pulls a chair up to sit across from me. Ivan remains standing, glaring at her suspiciously. "People assume using magic is spiritual or mental. They forget that it's still a physical activity."

"Which is why I'm still starving," I complain, holding my stomach.

"You want more food?"

"I would wait on that," Mary suggests, earning her another dirty look from him. "Just until we're done talking."

"She's hungry," He insists.

"I know, and I can appreciate that you're only trying to take care of her, but she ate an entire box of donuts by herself, plus two sandwiches. So it'll hold her for a little while."

"I always joked that I look like I have an eating disorder," I mutter with a dry laugh. "I think I scared my neighbors."
