"Sam, I need to warn you one thing before we go to your dorm." As the girls keep on cleaning up the patient room to bring their items back home, Lily suddenly raises her head up.
"Hm?" The guy looks at her.
She takes a deep breath. And with a serious look in her azure eyes, Lily says: "On the first night right after your surgery, there were people sent here, to this hospital to assassi... to harm you." While talking, Lily is biting her lips underneath the face mask. She gets that telling Sam someone was aiming for his life would make the happy atmosphere they have tried so hard to create much more intense. However, if she did not do so, he would not be prepared for what is to come. The danger then would be much worse.
Not only that, but she is also afraid that Sam is going to be mad at her for being kept away from knowing such an event.
Hearing the sudden topic, Yui intervenes with concerns. Her eyes look a little uncomfortable. "Lily! Is it really the time for us to talk about that?"
They have been deliberately trying to keep Sam from knowing about this. They were all afraid that would cause his recovery much slower because of the stress. Yui, especially, worried that Sam might sneak out to get back to his training routine as soon as possible after hearing that danger was coming for him. Which was the reason why she wanted to hide it.
Nycta nods at Lily and joins in the conversation. "If it's not now, then when? I agree with Lily. We need to talk about that. Otherwise, we are just endangering Sam even more."
Yui sighs. She also understands that. But she just does not dare to tell him that truth.
As for Yuno, she is staying silent. Thinking is not her business.
"What did I miss?" On the contrary to their belief, Sam is not angry, just confused.
The girls look at each other nervously trying to decide the person that should be explaining. The person may actually be scolded by him.
"Let me do it. I was the one to find out, after all. Sam can be mad at me as much as he wants." Nycta raises her hand.
The rest of them agree and sit down, putting down what they have been holding.
"What is up with you girls? Why so serious all of a sudden?" He asks them.
"Have you thought about the 5 guys, Sammy?" Nycta starts with a question.
"The ones that I had to fight? Yeah. I have."
The blind girl continues. "What is your opinion regarding their appearance? Like who they were, who sent them, etc."
Sam stops for a second to think.
"From what I can deduce after these 2 weeks, they were not obeying Marie. Obviously, I know whether or not she had that kind of influence. But it had to be related somehow. For some reason, the head of that team tried to kill me. That was very odd, considering there was hardly any interaction between me and him."
The girls keep quiet to let Sam talk.
Since waking up, Sam has been using his phone to play games and watch videos on the Internet. Because of that, he now knows the documents against him posted on Twotter.
"Which means that there is another someone who is controlling the guys that wants me dead. That person has a high chance to be an acquaintance of Marie. Also, they must have a high place in the school to be able to give such an order. And my conclusion is..."
With the chins in their hands, the girls look at him with sparkling eyes. They just love seeing a concentrated Sam trying to be a detective.
As people usually say, a man is most attractive when he is focused. This sentence works wonders for the lovestruck girls.
"My conclusion is I don't know this person. Thank you for listening. I'll be here all night." He waves and then bows down like a showman.
The girls: "...At least he's still handsome..."
There is no hope left for these 4 thirsty ladies.
"Ehem." After a few seconds to gather her focus back, Nycta starts talking. "Bianca is the name we are looking for. She is the person in charge of those 5 guys. Those men were the bodyguards that she had at school. Nonetheless, she sent them to fight you, Sam."
"I don't think I know her, though?" Sam scratches his head.
"Sam is itchy? Yuno will help!" The little girl jumps at him.
"Yui...Yui too!"
Lily just stares at them with fire in her eyes.
And so, a weird image appears.
A guy is sitting facing two girls, while a pair of identical twins are on each side of him, rubbing his hair.
"You don't, Sam. But you know the person she is in love with. You see, Bianca is Hero's lover."
"Ooooooh!! That makes sense. So she decided to kill me because I fought with Hero? Ah! This feels nice...A little to the left, Yui."
"Y...Yes!!" Yui squeals in embarrassment as she moves her fingers a little to the left.
*Stares*
Piercing gazes hit Yui's back. But she does not reply to them. Her hands keep on massaging Sam's scalp softly.
"That's right, Sam." Nycta tries her best to keep the voice calm despite the boiling blood inside of her veins. "Bianca is currently in an intimate relationship with the Hero. Because you challenged him, she is now targeting you."
"Such pettiness. Well, I can't say I don't understand why...Wait, Yuno? What are you doing? Those are not hands!" He looks to Yuno.
*Smooch*
She kisses his hair.
Immediately, the temperature gets colder.
*Pop-pop*
The rest of the gang suddenly have veins popping up on their foreheads.
Lily, who has been trying to stay sane, asks Sam softly. "Sammy, would you please close your eyes?"
"Okay." He does just what he is told. His sixth sense is tingling, telling him to do exactly what Lily says with no questions asked.
The moment Sam closes the eyelids, from the tip of Lily's index finger, a ball of light appears.
Light Magic: Blind.
"Gaaaahh!" Covering their eyes, Yui and Yuno scream at the same time.
"Nycta, would you please?" Lily turns towards Nycta.
"With pleasure!"
A black mist quickly surrounds the twins, entering their small bodies without a sound. Instantly, the two are paralyzed.
"You can open your eyes, Sam." Lily calls out to him.
Seeing the strange state of the two, Sam is confused. "What is..."
"They went too far." Nycta says so innocently, struggling with her shoulders.
"Okay..."
"Let's continue." Lily claps her hands.
"Because there were people sent here, we suspect that they were sent over to your dormitory as well. But rather than dealing with you like those 5 guys, this group will most likely stay in the shadow and wait for a good opportunity." Nycta explains.
Lily then makes a 'V' sign. "So we have 2 options for you."
Sam sits up straight in a serious manner.
"Number one: We stay at Nycta's place for good. People still do not know about the relationships between us and Nycta, so it would be a perfect hiding place. Anything that you are missing such as books or clothes can be bought back later. All of us will help you with that.
Number two: We go back to your place, get all the items, and go back to Nycta's place. Personally, this is very risky. We do not know if the team of assassins is still there or not. So doing so would be both stupid and redundant. Sam, you don't have a lot of things anyway. I would really suggest the first option."
Nycta gives her opinion. "After a series of sabotage by me, I don't think they still put you as a priority. Since all you did was to participate in a duel with Hero and what they have right now is an unknown killer, they will focus all of their manpower at Bianca's place. Having that said, Lily's choice is still the best one."
Very quickly, he says. "I agree. Let's do that, then."
No anger, no discomfort, he looks completely normal.
"..." The girls are all stunned at the lightning-fast decision of him.
With that thing gone from his life, Sam has been changing. He has never been slow at the action. Anything that he wanted to do for that girl, he would struggle to the best of his ability. People would normally think at least a little bit before deciding on moving in with someone. It is a big event. And to Sam, he feels like this is what he has to do.
He has no negative feelings for the girls. Even at this point, when he knows someone is after his life and the girls have been hiding it for 2 weeks, he still does not feel mad. To him, it is a normal thing because he would do the same if the positions were reversed.
In fact, Sam is a little enthusiastic thinking of living together with the girls.
He has never had that in the past, so he looks forward to doing so.
It seems like the target of Life has changed inside of Sam, yet he is still unaware of it.
"Why are you looking at me like that? I told you girls I wanted to live together, right? I'm simply fulfilling the promise."
"..." They are still stunned.
"There is one thing I feel a little weird, though. You girls have been doing many things for me, and I'm not doing anything in return. I feel kinda bad." He looks at the girls, one by one.
Lily smiles seductively upon hearing his concerns.
"Oh, Sammy! You will do us, alright. You will do us plenty!"
