"This has got to be a joke!" - roared the demon high priest as he looked at the generals who had different expressions on their faces.
The first attack that the demonic army had made had not only ended in failure, but also a large part of their soldiers had died, and what was worse, they hadn't even made it to the gate of the capital.
"I demand an answer!" - Roared the high priest as he looked around.
The generals ducked their gazes, even Cattleya did, though inside she was smiling, after all, of all those present, she had kept the most soldiers. Yes, she had sent some soldiers forward so the other generals wouldn't notice anything unusual, though her losses didn't compare to those of her colleagues.
"Well!" - The high priest exclaimed as he looked around, only to feel his fury grow with every second of silence inside the war room.
"My lord, it is obvious that the humans knew we would attack..." - Said a general as he looked at his direct superior - "It is possible that we have a traitor among our ranks."
"Impossible! All of us, and every single one of us inside this room, are 100% loyal to our god!" - roared the high priest as his pupils constricted - "Are you by any chance telling me that we are so stupid as to let a spy rise so high up the chain of command!"
"No, I wasn't referring to us, but it is possible that our direct subordinates are a danger to our objectives" - replied the general as his body trembled from the enormous spiritual pressure radiating from the cleric's post.
The high priest grunted, though he had to admit that this soldier's words made sense.
Cattleya let out a sigh of relief when she saw that the blame was now falling on a poor mid-ranking soldier, though she honestly nearly cursed out of fear that she might have been found out.
"I think we'd better stop looking for culprits until after we take control of the capital of the humans" - said another general as he looked around - "Our presence was discovered and our troops suffered a heavy blow."
"And we can't go back because our wizards used much of their mana to be able to perform the teleportation of our troops" - mused Cattleya while frowning - "I share the thought that we better worry about the problem in front of us, after all, we don't know how much time we have before the allies of those dirty humans arrive"
"Your words make a lot of sense, Cattleya-dono" - nodded the high priest of the demonic religion - "It's true, we are in the middle of enemy territory, and we can be surrounded without much trouble by the military forces of the humans living near the capital, so this is a war against the clock."
"We are in slight trouble, though we have to find a way to be able to solve the spy problem before it causes more damage to our operation, so I have a proposal" - said a muscular woman, she was one of the few women who had reached the rank of general, so she was treated with a lot of respect by the other female demons. She was very different from Cattleya, who had reached her general position thanks to her enormous demonic power.
"Speak" - said the high priest as he looked at the general.
"It's simple, if as you say, none of us is the traitor, then we just have to keep an eye on our most important subordinates" - mused the general while smiling slightly. She was releasing a slight charm despite the size of her muscles - "Keep them along with us all this time, that way we will also keep us in each other's sights."
"I thought you had accepted my words that there were no traitors among us" - said the high priest as he frowned.
"Oh, I accept them, though it's better to be safe than sorry, isn't it?" - smiled the demon woman as she licked her lips.
The high priest was silent before nodding - "Sounds good to me, we'll do that."
"Thank you very much" - smiled the female general as she closed her eyes for the priest to continue with his orders.
"Well, since we decided this, it's time for us to continue with the preparations for the war with the humans" - said the high priest, not noticing how Cattleya made an almost imperceptible hand movement and summoned a sphere that fell on the table.

[Ok, then what we will do is the following, General Reiss will take 10% of all his troops and initiate a frontal attack, while the rest of us attack the other gates...]
[Sounds good to me, although I think it's better if I take more soldiers because I feel that if we are too few, those humans might find out that something is going to happen]
[Reiss is right, more soldiers might create a better smoke screen for our real attack]...]
[What do you think Cattleya?]
[I think the same as you, although I feel it's better that we keep some troops in our base in case the attack goes wrong...]
[Are you saying that we are weak?]
[Rivali, it was you yourself who said that it was better to be safe than sorry...]
[Tch, I don't like my words being used against me, though you have a point, not counting that the mages are useless in our current situation with how weak they are after using the dimensional movement spell...]
[True, if we left them alone and the humans managed to kill them, then all of us would end up dead, and if by some chance we were to survive, we would possibly end up in a very bad physical or mental state.]
"Interesting..." - Cloud muttered as he stroked his chin, after all, Cattleya was doing an excellent job as a spy - "Though it's a pity that I already know about everything they'll do."
Cloud was silent for a few seconds before calmly thinking about the overall situation.
"This is a good opportunity to be able to use, although I'm going to have to risk the security of this capital a bit, after all, I'm the only one who can use my elemental mines" - Cloud mused as he continued to listen to the demon generals' conversation - "No, I have someone so I can speed up the process..."
Cloud quickly pulled out a communication sphere and called Rika to come to his room.
The purple-haired woman arrived a few minutes later with a serious expression because it was obvious that the call from their leader was not to have a pleasant evening.
"What do you need?" - Rika asked as she raised an eyebrow.
"It's simple, I want you to plan my bombs on the other entrances of the capital while I continue this battle" - Cloud replied as he tossed her a ring.
Rika raised an eyebrow before she heard the voice of the demon woman who had attacked her some time ago, as well as many other unknown voices -
"Are you listening to the enemy generals?"
"Yes," Cloud replied calmly as he motioned for the woman to go do her job.
Rika frowned before leaving the room, after all, she had a lot of work to do now that she knew the demons would attack the other entrances. Yes, she had deduced that without much trouble, after all, that was the only reason the blond would give her such strange orders.
Cloud refocused his attention on the demons' conversation, in the process increasing his appreciation for Cattleya and her excellent work as a spy. She had not only managed to gain the trust of the rest of the demonic army's chain of command, but she had also managed to blame her treachery on some other hapless idiot.
"It's a pity there isn't an affinity between the two of them, she could become an excellent spy for future worlds" - Cloud thought before shaking his head - "I can still manage to summon her, although this will be much more restrictive than making her one of my subordinates..."
The blond remained silent as he listened to the demons' discussion, though his expression changed when he heard something that surprised him.
[By the way, your excellency, we found traces of a human with an enormous dark power...]
[Oh, you don't have to worry about him, that guy is one of our god's new subordinates, he used to be the most powerful hero of the group that was summoned by the empire]
[Interesting, the last time I saw him, he was no big deal...]
[People change, Cattleya, and you're the spitting image of these words]
[So, how is it possible that a human from another dimension became the subordinate of our almighty god?]
[We don't have to worry about that sort of thing, General Razzes, we, his devoted followers just have to make sure that will is heard]
[I'm sorry, your excellency, I meant no disrespect to our god, I was just curious as to what it was about that filthy human that made him so special].
[Maybe it's the simple fact of corrupting the most powerful hero of that group of worms]
[You have a point, Cattleya ~]
