Cloud met old Cid during one of his missions, only to save his ass from an [Aragami] attack.
"Sounds like a nice guy, Onii-san ~" - Shio said with a smile after hearing about Cid.
"Yeah... he's a cantankerous man though" - Cloud replied with a grin as he squinted his eyes, only to snap his fingers so that a pillar of stones appeared from the ground along with the pain-filled roar of an [Aragami] that was following them - "They're still annoying..."
Shio quickly ran to where the [Aragami] was and grabbed its core, only to devour it without a second thought - "Not bad ~"
"Ok, we better get going, Cid will be here in a few hours" - Cloud said as he rolled his eyes at the girl.
* * * * *
"Ugh... I feel like I can't eat anymore..." - Mumbled a woman as she rubbed her stomach after all the food they had consumed now that they would be safe.
"Same..." - said a man who could barely stand up with his stomach swollen from eating so much - "Ugh... I never thought glory would taste like chicken..."
The other survivors let out a laugh when they heard this, only to open their eyes in surprise when they heard the sound of a helicopter approaching their location.
Tears ran down their cheeks as they all ran towards the entrance of the supermarket, only to see the huge vehicle that would carry them to a better life.
"It wasn't a dream..." - muttered one woman as she fell to her knees because she still hadn't believed the blond's words - "It wasn't a dream!"
The group of women hugged the poor girl who was crying as tears slid down her dirty cheeks.
"Come on... we're safe at last..." - Gin said as he hugged his girlfriend and walked in the direction where the helicopter was descending.

"It's good to see you, Cid," Cloud said as he saw a man in his 40's with black hair with light white highlights from the passage of time. He had a lean physique, a bastard's attitude and a cigar in his mouth.
"I wish I hadn't seen you for at least a few months, Cloud," Cid replied as he rolled his eyes at him, "Anyway, get the survivors so I can get the hell out of here."
"Ok, I love your rainbows and unicorns attitude" - Cloud replied as he rolled his eyes at the black-haired man with white hair - "I can tell you're popular with the ladies"
"Has anyone ever told you that you're someone unbearable, Cloud" - said Cid with a frown.
"Never, at least no woman so far" - Cloud replied with a smirk - "Usually the ones who say that sort of thing to me, are resentful men who are jealous of my popularity..."
". . ." - Cid gave the narcissistic blond a blank look, only to snort with disdain because it was obvious he wasn't being serious, or at least that was growing because with the blond he didn't know what to expect - "Let's get this joke over with, tell me where they are so I can leave, I still have to continue my holiday"
"Right, here they come" - Cloud replied as he pointed north, only for a group of people to look out in fear.
"There really were survivors in this place..." - Cid said in surprise as he looked at the group that had just arrived - "And here I thought you had called me just to annoy me..."
"Like I have the time to do something like that" - said Cloud as he rolled his eyes at him - "Anyway, since you want to go, just go talk to them, I have a lot of things to do now that I found out a few secrets..."
"?" - Cid gave him a confused look, only to notice how the blond was retreating along with a girl of about 13 - "Where did that girl come from?"
"Etto..."
Cid quickly looked in the direction of the voice, only to notice a man who was obviously a [God Eater] - "Call everyone, we leave immediately..."
"Huh? Hai!" - Gin exclaimed as he nodded. He quickly ran in the direction of his group, only for them to shout in excitement.
"Tch, that's why I don't like doing this kind of work..." - Cid muttered as he saw how all the survivors were crying out of happiness as a smile appeared on his face, though it disappeared as quickly as it appeared. He had to keep a cool attitude - "What are you waiting for, I'll invite you to tea?!"
"We're coming!" - exclaimed the survivors as they ran into the huge helicopter.
Cid was about to say something else when he felt his communicator beep. He quickly glanced at it, only to see the notification that new entries had come into his account - "At least you're someone to be trusted, you fucking blonde fuck..."

A few hours had passed since Cloud had left the village after leaving the survivors in Cid's hands and they were currently walking along the barren roads of the place.
"This is a bit annoying" - Cloud muttered as he frowned at all the sand that was being kicked up by the huge wind currents - "Good thing we got gear so we wouldn't suffer so much."
"I hear you, it would be annoying to be eating sand every time we talk, not to mention we don't know where he had been and what stuff he would have been covering" - Shio said while making a disgusted expression - "Ugh.... Just thinking about it makes me lose my appetite."
"Then you should think about it more because you eat too much" - Cloud replied as he rolled his eyes at her, only to notice how the girl stuck her tongue out at him - "But well, I guess you're right about that, I wouldn't enjoy feeling sand of dubious provenance in my mouth either."
"We'd better change the subject.... Where shall we go now?" - Shio asked as well she cocked her head to the side. They had been walking for quite a while in a haphazard manner.
"We'll keep investigating the nearby villages because I feel that things aren't as simple as they seem" - Cloud replied calmly as he looked around - "The more information we gather..."
But he didn't get to finish his sentence because he felt a cold sweat break out on his back along with the presence of a bad feeling.
"Oh... I think we're in slight trouble..." - Shio said as she frowned and looked in the direction of the south - "I guess one of them took interest in our presence..."
Cloud didn't say anything else, he quickly grabbed [Incursio] while releasing all his inner energy because he was about to start a difficult battle.
"[Tsukuyomi] was defeated in this place, so it's obvious that none of them appeared so we could investigate what happened..." - Shio said as she stepped back, only to hear the roar of a huge beast echoing in the place.
Cloud tightened his grip on his weapon firmly as he steadied his breathing, only to notice a huge orange silhouette appear in front of them.
"ROAR!" - the beast roared fiercely as it 'watched' the two beings in front of it. Two animal legs that were being covered by grey fur, three orange 'arms' that appeared to be spider legs, four orange protrusions that seemed to simulate being fly wings and two huge, flabby lumps on the beast's chest that gave it a feminine shape, and finally the silhouette of a completely white woman.
"[Amaterasu]..." - Cloud growled as he saw one of the first [Deusphages] to be discovered, only to notice the female form resting on the monstrosity's head.
". . ." - Shio quickly recoiled as she could feel her [Sister]'s growing curiosity in her, only to notice how she shifted the focus of her attention to the blonde.
"I never thought we'd find ourselves up against one of them so quickly," Cloud said as he narrowed his eyes.
"She wants to know what happened in this place and what we are," said Shio as she noticed how her [Sister] was sending out signals.
"She has the ability to communicate!" - Cloud asked as his pupils shrank, because if so, then the [Deusphages] were far more dangerous than he once thought. An [Aragami] was lethal just by having its instincts, but an [Aragami] with the ability to communicate was much worse, because it meant it had the intellect of a human.
"The more we evolve, the greater our power and intellect" - Shio replied simply - "At the same time, the more human we are..."
[Amaterasu] kept her gaze on Cloud as she roared again as if she was losing her patience.
"She said for you to answer" - Shio said as he looked at the orange monstrosity.
"Is it going to change things?" - Cloud asked as he narrowed his eyes.
"Probably not" - Shio answered seriously - "I can feel how my [Sister]'s desire to consume is gradually growing, such that she seems to find us delicious and strange in equal parts..."
"Then there's no reason to answer her because we'll still end up fighting" - Cloud said as he glared fiercely at the [Deusphages].
"ROAR!" - [Amaterasu] seemed to understand his words so she quickly stepped back as she stood on guard to start attacking, only to start releasing a massive amount of flames.
"You picked a bad opponent, [Amaterasu]!" - Cloud said as his body was surrounded by powerful flames - "You are a fire entity, and I.... I am a being that consumes fire!"
