Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Origin

Six years ago, before she was born, a huge war broke out. The war was against a neighboring kingdom who broke the peace treaty that the ancestors signed to stop wars from forming in the future 500 years ago. While the King, Queen, Princes and Princesses were leaving the throne to go and escape, there was a Marquess who was sending his eight-month pregnant wife away to protect her from the war.

Marquess Elliot Von Desquare, he was the most popular person in the empire. The reason he was so popular was because of the family trait that he had inherited from his grandfather. Elliot had sky blue hair with a patch of silver in the front of his head and his eyes were a bright yellow which almost looked like gold. Elliot also inherited something else from his family which was his powers. He had been born with the ability to control mana. Mana is an energy that comes from nature so mana is naturally all around us and Elliot was able to manipulate that energy from birth. His mana compacity and manipulation ability was way higher than normal people. He specifically could control the elements fire, wind, and earth. This led to Elliot going to an academy to learn how to control his powers which is where he met his childhood friend, and later on wife, Michelle Ran Garcia, the daughter of a Count. Michelle had bright red eyes and golden blonde hair. Michelle also had an abnormal capacity of mana but her control ability was very weak to the point where she would lose control on the simplest of spells. She could control the elements of water/ice, earth, and light, which was rare. Elliot felt a sense of likeness to Michelle and so he decided to teach Michelle about control and that's how Michelle and Elliot met and became the best of friends. When Elliot and Michelle graduated, they got engaged and married. Elliot inherited the title of Marquess and Michelle was found to be pregnant. Everyone was happy but, happiness doesn't last forever. Everything changed when they found out the war had already reached the empire and the war took Elliot's father and Michelle's father.

The Marquess decided to go to the war because he wanted to protect his family. The Marchioness did not want him to go so she hugged him as tightly as possible for her pregnant body to do so and said "Don't go! Please! Let's go together, I don't want you to go on a suicide mission alone, so just let me go with you, please!". The Marquess held the Marchioness tightly and with a tear flowing down his face the Marquess said "You should know better than anyone how

strong my powers are, I can easily take down a thousand soldiers at a time. You also know you can't come with me because that would put our child in danger and neither of us want that.". The Marchioness reluctant to accept he was going alone fell to the floor crying. The Marquess whispered "I'm sorry" and cast a sleeping spell on the Marchioness. The Marquess called for one of his secret guards. "Take her far away from this place, protect her and the baby with your life. You will assume the identity of a maid that I sent to take care of her and the baby. I will give this letter to you, give it to Michelle when she wakes up and remember at all times, to never ever come back here unless I send someone to come find you." The guard nods and grabs the Marchioness and they leave. The Marquess now standing on the balcony alone looks over at the destruction of the empire and says "Well, I guess I should get moving for my family!"

Four days later the Marchioness finally wakes up. "You have finally awoken; I was getting a little worried. You have been asleep ever since we escaped the Marquess' territory." said the guard. The Marchioness confused on what had happened she grabs the guard, cast the spell ice arrow above her hand and says "Who are you?! Where am I!?". "I am Samantha, you can call me Sam, madam. I am the guard assigned to you by the lord." the guard said. Michelle who somewhat has a grasp on the situation goes and says "That damn husband of mine dared to use a sleeping spell on me! I'm going to kill him!". Samantha who doesn't want the Marchioness to move, because she is eight-months pregnant, decides to give the Marchioness the letter of the Marquess which he entrusted to Samantha. The letter stated the following:

My Love,

If you are reading this then you have successfully received the letter I entrusted to the guard I asked to take care of you. I know you probably resent me right now for knocking you out but it was for your and the baby's own good. The pendant in the letter has a picture of me and you so look at that whenever you miss me. I do not know when you can come back or even if I'm going to come back alive so I have been thinking about the baby's name. I thought we could do Joseph, after your father, if it's a boy. Josephberg Von Ran Desquare, now doesn't that sound like a strong and sophisticated name. If it is a girl how about we name her Evalinenia, after my late grandmother, Evalinenia Von Ran Desquare. Both names sound so great. I hope I will be able to see which name it is. If I get back, When I come back, I will be sure to make sure the baby and you are so loved that you both will be smothered with love. I love you and our baby so much.

Love, Elliot

When Michelle read the contents of the letter, she cried for a long time before she passed out from exhaustion. While the madam was fast asleep, Samantha on the other hand went off in search of a remote and quiet village where Michelle and herself could settle down without the threat of assassination attempts. Even though Samantha and Michelle had great powers, they could never be too cautious when it comes to their and the baby's life. The reason they were so cautious was because there were multiple attempts on the Marchioness' life throughout the years from her half-brother Michael. Michael was a child born of an affair that his father, the Count, had with his mother a maid in the count's household and he always hated his half-sister. The reason being was the fact that growing up Michelle had always been better than her brother which made Michael feel jealous of his sister. She always got good grades and was always liked by others. She even gained the title of Marchioness from her husband while Michael only inherited the position of count. Michael despised his sister so much that he wanted her dead so extra caution was a necessity for Samantha to protect her Madam and her little master that was inside the madam.

Two months later, right when the war was at its worst and you could hear the explosions from afar, Michelle went into labor. It was three straight hours of hard pain and loud screams. Samantha had put up a sound barrier to not disturb the other villagers. After three whole hours of labor pain Samantha let down the sound barrier and all you could hear was the crying sounds of newborn baby. The crying was very loud so the other villagers came to see if the baby and Michelle was okay. "Are you okay madam?" Samantha said. Michelle nodded to Samantha who was in the cabin with her to help with the birth. Samantha handed the baby to Michelle and said, "It's a girl, madam!". Samantha smiled happily at her madam and her little miss. "I wish I could tell the master about how my madam and little miss are doing really well." Samantha hid her thoughts from her madam because she knew that if she said this out loud, her madam would be sad non-stop and would not care about the little life she gave birth to. Samantha went outside with her little miss to show the villagers that nothing was wrong and that Michelle had just given birth to a little girl. Samantha smiled very happily and said "Welcome to the world, my little miss, Evalinenia Von Ran Desquare".
