Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: The Three

"Why must I, an Alpha, do such a petty mission as this one? Who cares what those Voodoo freaks do as long as they pay us?" Nelson thought, looking at the other two that accompanied him through the swap.

"Aye, boss, what's the deal with us coming all out here to look at some old factory? Isn't this the Voodooest territory? Those guys give me the crips. A young man in his early 20s said.

Nelson was a broad man with short black hair and was in his mid-30s

"I don't know, West? We do what the Apex tells us. Their word is the law we couldn't disobey even if we tried." Nelson complained.

"You little wolves better respect the Apex; they are Gaia's champions!" A short-haired redhead woman said.

"Right, right, we know, you Shamans never fail to remind us," West says.

The redhead woman was in her late 20s and had a pixie-style haircut. She was dressed like a hippy while the other two men wore some uniform.

" Need i remind you I am an Alpha, few stand shoulder to shoulder with me. The only head that is above mine is the Apex." Nelson growled.

Before May, the redhead could give a smart reply. West stopped in his tracks as they were just about to reach the factory.

"Wait, I smell something, and it doesn't exactly smell like a human?" West said as he sniffed the air again?

"Is it Vampire?" May said in a somewhat sacred voice.

"Not possible; they know not to come to our territory without prior approval. But I do smell what you're talking about. It kinda smells like a Chimera and a human." Nelson says, looking around him.

"Oh, so it's just a little Voodooist you had me scared for a second," May said, calming down.

"May, have you ever fought a Voodooist? While they may not have a lot of flashy magic attacks. The chimeras they summon can be a pain to deal with." West says.

"Agreed. Put your guards up; this is their territory, so they may know we are already here." Nelson says.

"Pshh, if it's some Voodooist, then I can deal with them easily. They can't be compared to Shaman's and our Gaia's magic." May thought.

Adonis and Natasha look at the three people heading towards the factory

"Those two men smell like wet dogs," Natasha says as she and Adonis look at them from behind a tree.

"Yea, in the literary sense. There's also a weird green glow surrounding the women with them. My guess is she wields magic. What would you like to do?" Adonis said.

"This is a pretty secluded place, and these people don't look the friendliest. We should fall back and see what they are here for.

"Falling back would be the best plan, but that's if the enemy hasn't already realized your presence. Hmm, that's weird; it smells like you two are chemrias," West says as he appears behind Adonis and Natasha.

Both Adonis and Natasha are startled by West's sudden appearance.

Natasha quickly springs into action by trying and throwing a punch at West. Who dodges her punch and returns a backhand to her face. Sending her flying through towards a tree within the swap.
