As I was lost in thought I could still smell the same scent Ah Lin usually carries. It was a sweet vanilla smell. He still had this smell. I don't care whether or not he is either a ghost or a human as long as he is still here. So neither do I care if I'm a ghost or human. I don't care where I am as long as I am with him.
In my brain I could hear this budging thought that was screaming that I had Qi Yan. But at this point I really don't care. I've loved and missed him for so many years. Let me just hold onto him tightly.
"Hui Qing, although we haven't seen each other in so long, you are still so short," muttered Song Ze Lin. "Ah Lin," I mumbled. I couldn't care even when he was teasing me. I sobbed into his shirt and noticed that his shirt was still dry. He softly comforted me until I stopped crying. "You better?" he asked after I had calmed down. I nodded in agreement.
I looked around and noticed that the whole place was still black. Only me and Ze Lin was glowing with a fade of light. "Where am I?" I asked. Ze Lin smiled and replied, "This is your sea of consciences,". I looked him in confusion as he continued to explain.
"Ah Qing do you remember that you were pushed off a cliff?" he asked as I nodded. "On the outside world you've lost your consciences and so you soul has brought you here," he explained. "Then why are you here?" I asked. If this is my conscience, he shouldn't be here.
"This is just a shard of my soul kept in that ring. The only reason you can see is because I had to do something for the person up there," he explained. "Someone up there?" I asked curiously. "That's a secret you're not meant to know," he mumbled whilst holding my hands and leading me somewhere. I didn't say anything else after that.
"Where are we going?" I asked. Ah Lin looked at me and mumbled "I'm bringing you back, you have to go back. It's not time for you to meet me," he uttered. We walked down the long passage until we saw a door in front of us. It was glowing brightly.
I turned my head and looked back at Ah Lin whilst grabbing both of his hand. "Ah Lin, do I have to go? I really don't want to. I want to stay here with you. If I leave, I won't ever see you again," I mumbled. Ah Lin looked at me and smiled. His eyes were shining brightly as he uttered his next words. "Hui Qing even if you go back out, I will always be there with you. I am already apart of you. As long as you wear my ring on that necklace, I will always be a part of you," he whispered looking straight into my eyes.
He leaned close to me as if he wanted to kiss me. I didn't shrink away and leaned closer to him. The kiss I awaited never landed on me. I opened my eyes and looked at him confusedly. I had missed him a lot especially the feeling he can give me. Yet why was he not touching me? "Sorry, I forget that I'm no longer human," he mumbled as he diverted his eyes. I could tell that he was a little upset.
"Hui Qing you ought to go quickly," he muttered. "Ah Lin, I'll miss you," I whispered as I hugged him tightly. "I hope I can see you again," I announced. "Well, I hope you won't come to see me that early," he declared as I looked up at him, "I mean I don't want to see you until you are really old,". I laughed at his words and looked seriously in his eyes. "But I will look really ugly when I'm old. You can't despise me," I teased as he laughed. "No matter what sort of person you become in the future, you are still the person I love the most," he declared as I let go of him.
I began walking towards the door and didn't look back. I know if I looked back now, those tears that are so hard to control we fall down my face. Yet I still couldn't control them. They still fell down my face.
"Ah Qing, if you really like him. Then I wish you happiness," he muttered. He could only be talking about Qi Yan. I tried to control my voice so it sounded as if I hadn't cried yet I couldn't control it. "Ah Lin, are you not jealous? I remember that you were very jealous before," I teased. Zi Lin laughed and muttered "I'm already dead. I wish that the woman I have loved for my entire life will find her happiness. Even if I can't be the one to give her happiness," explained Zi Lin.
I turned my head back to look at him, he noticed that I was crying and ran straight to me. He tried to caress me, yet his hand went through me. When we first saw each other, he was still solid like a human but now he was getting pretty transparent like a ghost. "What?" I asked in confusion. "Hui Qing, I don't have much time. Quick go," he shouted. I was scared a little, so I quickly ran towards the door.
As I stepped through the door, I heard him shouting "Hui Qing, I will always wait for you. In my next life I hope I can reincarnate to be your son, so I will always be loved by you,". I closed my eyes and hoped so. Even if he becomes someone who isn't Ze Lin I still hope I can still be with him.
