Chereads / His Bride Not Mate / Chapter 12 - Chapter 11.

Chapter 12 - Chapter 11.

He was definitely not happy, and Lucia held on to me tightly. She could also tell that he didn't like the sound of that.

"That filthy man! How dare he even think about marrying you. You're not getting married, not on my watch." He yelled.

And just as he had promised, he turned the car in the opposite direction. He was really against this marriage. It is to take one hell of a lot of strong will to convince him.

"Jason you don't understand."

I spoke in the softest tone I could muster.

" I also want this. No one forced me into this. Please turn the car around."

I begged, but he didn't care to listen to what I had to say as he stepped on the gas.

"Lucia, please, you have to reason with him. You're the only one he'd dare give an ear to in this fit of rage. I want this. I really do."

"No." He interrupted.

"No. You don't want this, you're only doing this because you're afraid and have no say, but that rubbish is coming to an end today. I will take you somewhere safe, that way none of that fairytail nonsense curse can ever affect you. You're not getting married today and much less to that thwart and that's final."

The car remained quiet, it was only the sound of the engine revving that dared break the silence.

I didn't want him to get involved in my problems anymore. His relationship with father was almost ruined and that was because of me. He rebelled countless times because of me, defying orders just to make sure I was good and happy. Which is one of the reasons my father wanted me gone in the first place. He fears that I may influence him in the worst possible way. I always doubted him, but today, my brother had done something to upset father. This spells trouble.

Behind us, a convoy of black salon cars followed us in unison, looking at the symbol on their car, I could tell that they were after me. They belonged to my fiancé's men.

"Jason, stop the car." I begged him, but he didn't bother to listen to me.

"Jason, sweety. You have to at least listen to what she has to say." Lucia begged him.

"Why should I listen to you two, it doesn't even sound the least convincing." He yelled.

I'm worried, if this goes on, someone might get hurt, and I don't want that to happen. I have just  one trick up my sleeve since he refuses to listen to me.

"Brother, please let me get married." I plead. "Because, because. I love… Him." I said in a low tone that He could have missed it. My brother had already heard that part. He stopped the car after that long drive and took off the seat belt. He turned to the back where Lucia and I sat and then stared at me without saying a word. I wondered what was going on in his head. I heard a deep sigh. He stepped out of the car, and walked towards the back seat, opening the door and helping me out.

"Are you sure about your decision?" He asked me.

All I could do was nod in agreement as he pulled me in for a hug. It was such a warm embrace that I felt like I shouldn't leave him.

"If you ever feel like he doesn't deserve you or if he ever starts to treat you badly, you must let me know about it at once, and I'll kill him myself." He whispered.

Just then someone pushed through the crowd of men that stood. Nelson, whose car had just arrived, ran up to me like his life depended on it. Jason, who was wary of him, was holding me tightly and Lucia was looking at me with worry. I smile at both of them and slowly free myself from his grip. Nelson hurried over towards me and embraced me the very second after he reached me.

What is going on?

"So, you're the bastard who will marry my sister." Jason said.

Nelson's eyes shrunk as he stared at both of us. "Sister?" He questioned. Could he have possibly mistaken our relationship just now? No wonder there were tons of cars chasing after us, could he have possibly thought I ran away with my lover? "I'm sorry for misunderstanding, but you kidnapped my fiancé."

"I still see no reason why I shouldn't do the same again. I don't trust you, and I don't believe that you're the best option for her either, sooner or later your mate will arrive and you'll abandon her." He yelled at Nelson. Lucia tried to hold him back, but there was no stopping him from saying what's on his mind.

"I give you my word. Your sister will not suffer or go through any hardship while she remains as my wife, and even if my mate appears, I will not abandon her, and I will protect her." I froze when I heard him promise. Battling with myself if these were real or empty words, although I had just lied to my brother by saying I was in love with him. I still don't know for sure what my true feelings are at the moment. "Lily." He called out my name. Nelson stretched for his big muscular hand. "Let's go." He said to me,

I took his hand and we both turned away, heading straight for his car as we drove through the empty road, leaving my brother behind, who watched until we were both out of reach for each other. Nelson was silent throughout the drive, it's not like I wanted him to talk much, but at least he should try to say something. The heavy air through the drive was enough to make even the driver feel disturbed, I should know, I've caught him staring at us a couple of times. It's troublesome enough that the both of us are driving  in the same car, I don't think I've seen a bride and groom in the same car before the wedding.

Finally, we arrived at the church. I'm overflowing with nervousness, so do I go in, it might not be too late to turn back now, he should understand right, I'll apologize and vanish. I felt a hand slip into mine, "I'll be going in now. I'll be waiting for you." I try to stop him to probably reason with him but a bunch of people suddenly surround him escorting him inside, and not long after, a bunch of females rush after me. I'm not given a chance to explain myself, and rushed into the chapel, my makeup was redone and then finally, I could hear the music playing from the dressing room. It's finally time.
