Chereads / His Bride Not Mate / Chapter 9 - Chapter 8.

Chapter 9 - Chapter 8.

"Woah." I could hear the murmurs of my father's men. The worst had happened and they had finally found me, but not in the way they expected to. My cheeks flushed with embarrassment even while I was still in his arms, the awkward kissing position made things a lot more difficult than I had expected, now there was no way that I could ever defend myself.

When he released me from his lips, he wiped my lips with his thumb and then licked his thumb. This was a first hand embarrassment and that too in front of so many people.

"Let's go tell your father that we should get married as soon as possible Lilian."

This would be the first time he called my name. I couldn't help but nod in agreement as he took my hand and led me back to my home in the midst of the crowd. It was official. I am putty in his hands.

"If that's what you want Nelson then I can't stop you two. You can pick whatever date is best for the wedding to hold and I would get everything arranged."

And just like that, father had approved of this marriage without hesitation. His right hand man Matt, also looked at us marvelously. I wondered what kind of a person he was to cause such a reaction from his own Beta.

"I'll call home and tell them of the decision and get everything prepared for when we return, okay with you man? He asked Nelson." He was rewarded with a nod. Immediately, Matt excused himself as he typed away furiously on his phone. No doubt, he was getting to work. I could tell he was happy because he was doing a horrible job at keeping a straight face.

"You see what's happening? that's how things are going to be from today onwards, you'll be treated like a queen and everything you want would be at your disposal. All you need to do is act as you should. Act like the perfect bride they want you to, what you do with your life after the wedding is none of my business." Nelson whispers silently.

In less than twenty four hours, word had spread that Alpha Nelson had fallen in love with his bride, but only us two knew the truth, and I am well intended to keep it that way, that is, until my future is secured.

"Hey, you in there?"

It was late in the afternoon today when Nelson barged in before I permitted him to. I was expecting him to wait for my permission before he walked in but it seemed a lot like rules didn't apply to him. In other words, talking to him about how he should act was useless.

"What was so important that you couldn't wait for me to let you in and rather helped yourself." I asked him.

He strolled casually like he had come in here everyday of his life. What an impetus! He eased his bulk on the bed and stared at me. He sighed after a long pause and then I just knew it had to be serious.

"My trip has been delayed. Looks like I'll be here a little longer than planned until the wedding details have been finalized. I've asked Matt to tend to some urgent issues. So, until the coast is clear,  I'll be camping here. Moreover, I expect your cooperation to the fullest. You are by no means allowed to avoid or push me away in public, on the contrary. You will put a smile on your pretty face and we'll act like the perfect couple, while I act like a man madly in love with his weak Omega wife." He tells me.

He was spelling out my task for me, so I would have no reason to give him any complaints later. I felt the huge wall he had built between us and wondered to myself if he was this way to everyone. I doubted it, if not, why then did he treat me differently that night, and did he ever try to look for me after that day?

"I understand, and trust me I won't give you a reason to regret this. After all, we both have a lot to lose in the end if things go south." I say, making sure to remind him that we were both doing each other a favor.

"Now….I walk towards him and take his hand, if you'll excuse me, I would like to have my privacy all to myself, so you may leave my room." I told him, but he didn't budge.

"I thought I could spend some quality time with my fiance, that's why I decided that I would be visiting your room at night. So get ready. You should get used to things like this, it might happen without any warnings." He told me.

There was no way I could throw him out without causing a scene even though I so badly wanted to do that. Damn him! He also had the power to make my blood boil. I definitely couldn't walk out of the room and leave him here by himself, it would only create a risk in our plan.

Without a solution at hand, I sat down on the small couch in the right corner of the room and waited for him to leave once he was tired, but he never left.

Nelson's Pov.

To think she was this tired, it wasn't even thirty minutes until she fell asleep. In the blink of an eye, she was out a light. She must have exhausted herself with all those plans that included running like a thief. She would probably not have known if I didn't come here with the excuse of seeing her. To be honest, I hated the way the members of this household looked at me and also followed me like a bunch of flies. Argh! I really hate insects but there was nothing I could do about these ones at the moment.

I watched as she tried to make herself comfortable on the small couch, stretching her legs so she could at least feel comfortable, but she failed miserably at achieving that goal since she couldn't fit in, and whenever she failed to feel the comfort she wanted, she would murmur and turn the other way. I'm surprised she could stay this long on such a small couch. She was such a weak Omega, that she was not even the slightest bit at alert, otherwise she would have sensed me ages ago and woken up.

I sighed heavily as my conscience got the best of me, it wouldn't let me sleep peacefully after I was here myself and did nothing about it. I finally decided to carry her to bed, my hand feeling her soft skin as I tried my best to look away, remembering my mystery girl as I had carved it on my mind so I wouldn't be tempted into such a situation. I gently lifted her and quietly brought her to the bed, laying her on her side. She grabbed a pillow as if she had been waiting for it, and snuggled into it. Honestly, she was cute, unique and fragile, with the temperament of a lioness. I stood up to leave, but something caught my eye.
