I shouldn't have accepted her challenge. It was in the spur of the moment and it would only bring me trouble. It wasn't until we had gone far that I had finally understood what was happening.
I should have known better that no one would easily accept an Omega as a friend.
It was about ten minutes into the race, legs burning and chest aching, I felt alive as we ran down the trail. I heard the woman whoop as she sped through the woods. I laughed in delight, her joy infectious before trying to gain more speed, reaching deep into my consciousness I pulled on the strength hilda could offer me, my arms elongating a bit and my calf muscles strengthening, it gave me burst of speed and i ran past her, my shock at my success exhilarating me.
I briefly wondered if I could win this race and the thought sent a jolt through me.
