Lilian was practically vibrating from her place beside me, her anticipation and anxiety making her fidget. I slowly engulfed her trembling fingers, caressing her knuckles as I tried to soothe her. "It'll be fine Lilian, you have nothing to worry about." I told her. Lilian just sniffled at me, trying to act nonchalant.
"Who says I'm nervous?." She said with an air of false calm. I just gave her a dry look, my face clearly saying 'are you being serious now?'. Her eyebrows twitched before her facade crumbled. Her brows were lifted so high that I was afraid they would disappear into her hairline and her lips were nearly bitten raw from her agitation.
