Alice was completely unaware of our visit, it was better we came unexpectedly to avoid her trying to run away, although the bond between those two seems alright now, they've always been so awkward around each other, I was certain she was going to make a run for it if we called her before coming.
We pulled up in front of Alice's cottage, as always she chose to live alone rather than with company, even when her daughter-in-law was not too far away either.
"Good evening mother. It's nice to see you again." I greeted her from afar as we drew near, Lilian was trembling with each passing second.
I took her hand in mine, and as always, smiled to give her the comfort she needed, "everything is going to be alright." I promised her, in return, she smiled at me and we proceeded together until we arrived.
This time however Alice didn't run away, she stood at the door until we reached her and then hissed. "You should have called." She said.
