Chapter 11 - VISITING DIO'S MOTHER

A silent night. Vania was sitting in the room playing her old guitar. Usually when she was confused or lonely, she would take the guitar and play it.

There were a few cans of beer. She drank it while singing alone. Vania's mind drifted. She again thought of her hot kiss with Hayam.

Actually, when you think about it now, the kiss wasn't bad at all.

Vania liked it. Hayam was very good at arousing Vania's passion. Vania's eyes closed. Without realizing it, her fingers touched the surface of her lips.

"Ah, why am I thinking like this," Vania sighed. She tried to get her thoughts straight again. This was something she could not continue.

"But, Hayam is already a widower. Actually I don't need to worry," Vania took a deep breath.

Vania's mind flashed back to Dio's offer. The man asked for one year to break the engagement with Rosa. Vania asked herself.

Can she wait that long? One year is not a short time to wait.

She wasn't sure whether Dio would really succeed or not.

If you think about it carefully, having a relationship with Hayam again is the best choice. Vania actually still has love for Hayam.

Vania's cell phone rang again. She looked at her phone screen. There was an incoming call from Dio for her.

Vania picked it up with a giddy heart. "Hello," said Vania.

"Hey, Vania. Had dinner, right?" asked Dio.

"You called me just to make sure I've eaten or not?" said Vania. She chuckled. Dio was always sweet and caring.

"I love you, Vania."

"You are Rosa's fiancé," said Vania. She tried not to get carried away.

Dio is good, young, handsome, and rich. However, Dio is still engaged to Rosa.

"You don't have to remind me again and again about that," Dio replied. He was hurt because Vania always brought up the engagement.

"I have to stay realistic, Dio. As long as you're still in touch with Rosa, I'm still considered a troublemaker," said Vania sadly.

"I told you earlier. One more year, we will get married. I'm serious about it," explained Dio.

"Yes, do the best you can," replied Vania resignedly.

"What are you doing now?" Vania tried to change the topic of conversation. She did not want to drag on discussing Dio and Rosa's engagement.

"Oh, I'm at the fruit shop," said Dio. "You want me to buy you something? I can order fruit delivery for you."

"No need," said Vania. "Don't be out too late. Lately there's been a lot of crime at night."

"I use the car. You don't have to worry. But, if this is a form of your concern for me, I'm happy to hear it," replied Dio. "I love you, Babe. Night."

Dio ordered fruit and divided it into two baskets. He asked the seller to send the fruit to Vania's house.

Dio brought his fruit basket. He gets in the car and drives. Tonight Dio planned to go to the hospital. He visited his mother who was still undergoing treatment in the hospital.

There, Dio saw that his mother had just finished dinner. Dio smiled at his mother.

"Dio, come here alone again?" said Dio's Mother.

"Yes, Mom. I brought fruit. Make breakfast and snacks," Dio showed his fruit basket. He knows his mother likes to eat fruit.

"Oh, what a coincidence. The stock of fruit in Mama's room has run out," said Dio's Mother. She smiled broadly at Dio.

Dio immediately arranged the fruit in the refrigerator. Now the fridge was full of snacks and fruit from Dio.

"I'm glad you're here. Mama thought you were busy working at the office, "explained Dio's Mother. She enjoyed the red wine that Dio had washed.

Dio sat beside his mother. He peeled an orange and fed it to his mother's mouth.

"I'm busy, Mom. Work piled up. There are so many people who hire event organizer services," explained Dio.

The company managed by Dio was indeed engaged in the event organizer sector. He offers event planning services to all his clients. Busy people really like to use the services of the Dio company. Plus, Dio's company does have workers who are professionals in their fields.

"You still have to take care of your health, right? Don't force yourself. You're still young," said Dio's Mother.

Her gaze was concerned with Dio. Honestly she felt sorry for Dio.

At a relatively young age, Dio was already thinking about the company and making a living for his family.

Fortunately, Dio wass indeed the type of person who wass skilled and diligent. The man was able to raise the family company very successfully.

"Yes, Mom. I always eat on time," said Dio. "What is rarely on time is my schedule of visits here. Forgive me, Mom? I don't have time to visit Mama anymore. I am wrong."

Dio looked down sadly. His busy schedule at work made it difficult for him to meet his mother. Dio's workload wass heavy. In bad times, Dio couldn't see his mother. He was afraid that his mother was worried and would come back seriously ill.

The only consolation for Dio was Vania. When with Vania, he could smile more. Vania knew how to make Dio's heart happy. Vania treated Dio sweetly and didn't whine like most other women.

In fact, Rosa was quite spoiled for Dio. Because of that, Dio chose to think of Rosa as a relative rather than a partner.

Dio wanted a strong woman to be his partner. Vania wass the best candidate that Dio has found.

"Dio, Mama knows how busy you are. Mama won't have a problem with your visit here," said Dio's Mother gently. "Rosa and her mother often come here. They came here and took Mama for a casual chat. Mama is happy that they are always there for our family."

Dio's heart was beating restlessly. He actually wanted to discuss the annulment of the engagement with his mother now.

"Dio, you take good care of Rosa. She and her family have always been kind to us," said Mama Dio.

Dio looked at his mother. He was still hesitating but he couldn't hold it in for too long.

"Mom, I don't like Rosa," replied Dio. He looked at his mother with sad eyes. "Mom, I'm sorry, okay? I have no desire to disappoint Mama but I do not love Rosa. I want to take care of Rosa but I will take care of Rosa as a sister."

Dio's Mother was shocked for a moment. She stared at Dio. "Are you sure about what you just said?" replied Dio's Mother.

"Yes, Mom. Sorry. I already have a choice of heart, "explained Dio honestly.

"Who's she?"

"Vania. She is a reporter and Rosa's subordinate," explained Dio. "I want to cancel my engagement with Rosa and marry Vania. I hope Mama can understand my feelings."

Mama Dio was silent. She turned her face the other way. The silence appeared for so long.

"Mom, please help me okay? I don't love Rosa. My marriage to Rosa can be tasteless and unhappy if I force myself to marry Rosa," Dio pleaded. He hoped his mother would agree to this decision.

"Bring her here," said Mama Dio. "What?" "Mom wants to meet the girl. Bring her here," explained Mama Dio.

Dio didn't know what his mother's intention is to invite Vania to the hospital. However, he still nodded and immediately informed Vania after visiting his mother.

"Vania, my mom wants to meet you," Dio explained over the phone.

"You're serious? Is your mother going to scold me?" guessed Vania worriedly.

"Don't think badly. She wants to know you. Would you like that?" invite Dio. He hoped that Vania would agree to come visit his mother. Dio's heart hopes that Vania and her mother can get to know each other well.

"When?" she asked.

"Tomorrow afternoon huh? I'll take you to your house," said Dio.

"Okay," answered Vania in agreement.

Vania was a little hesitant about the invitation to the hospital. However, she hopes to be closer to Dio's parents.

The next day, Vania hastened her work at the office. After that, she went straight home and prepared to visit Dio's mother.

Dio came to Vania's house on time. He was wearing all light blue clothes so he looked fresh. Vania smiled awkwardly. She also wore a light blue dress.

"Come on," Dio took Vania into the car. The man drived the car to the hospital.

"Dio, thank you for the fruit, okay? I'm happy yesterday that I received fruit from you," said Vania. She remembered that last night Dio bought her a basket of fresh fruit.

"No problem. I'm happy when you're happy," replied Dio.

"I want to buy food for your mother. Can you stop at the bakery please?" asked Vania.

Dio nodded. He stopped at the bakery in the direction of the hospital. Vania immediately bought bread and pudding for Mama Dio. After that, she got back into the car.

Vania's heart skipped a beat when Dio took her into the room where Dio's mother was being treated. Inside, it looked like Dio's mom had just finished taking a bath and had her health checked by a nurse.

"Mom," said Dio when the nurse had left the room.

Dio's Mother smirked. "You come here," said Mama Dio.

She glanced briefly at Vania. Vania wass getting nervous. She nodded and smiled politely at Dio's Mother.

"Auntie, introduce me, my name is Vania," said Vania. She showed a big smile to look friendly and made a positive impression at this first meeting.

"Oh, you whose name is Vania," replied Mama Dio.

Vania approached her. She gave a basket of bread and pudding to Mama Dio.

"This is for a snack, Auntie," said Vania.

Dio's Mother only glimpsed. She accepted it but when the basket reached her hand, she just let it go.

Vania was surprised to see her food basket fell to the floor and scattered. She looked at Dio's Mother with a look of shock. Dio's Mother smiled cynically. Her hand moved to pull Vania's hand and then grabbed Vania's hair hard.
