The HRD head flashed a half mocking smile. She clearly looked down on Vania who was slumped in front of her now.
"Besides, you're always involved in embarrassing scandals," commented the bespectacled woman. "You are a reporter, not a prostitute. You might take your own boss's fiancé. Do you have ethics or not?"
Vania's heart that was already miserable was breaking into pieces when she heard the insult of her HRD Head. Very clearly, the Head of HRD called Vania a prostitute. Didn't that outrageous?
Vania glared at her HRD Head. Her heart was really hot when she heard that insult.
"Pardon, your way of speaking is very rude," Vania protested. "After all, I'm still an employee here. You shouldn't have called me that."
The HRD head sneered at Vania with her arrogant face. "Then what do you want to do? Sue me?" the HRD head chuckled. "Are you sure you can win when you sue me? The letter of dismissal is already in your hands. Directly, you are no longer an employee here."
"I am still an employee here!" said Vania. "I don't accept unilateral dismissal without inviting me to a job evaluation. This includes breach of employment contract. I can sue."
"Just do it," said the HRD head casually. "Everything is clear. You already have some red points in the office records. You always make a fuss in the office, other employees feel uncomfortable, you snatch your boss's fiancée, and you tarnish the name of the office. Is there not enough explanation from me?"
"I never make a fuss," said Vania. Her eyes started to heat up with emotion and now they were teary with tears in her eyes. "Rosa always starts. She hit me in the parking lot. I've never tried to light things up. Everything happened because Rosa suddenly got angry without wanting to listen to my explanation."
"What kind of explanation would you like to give?" said the Head of HRD. "It's very clear from the videos circulating that you have snatched Rosa's fiancé. Everyone agrees that you are a bitch. There's no one to defend you."
Vania kneaded her dismissal letter. Her tears melted. She wiped it off quickly.
With red eyes filled with anger, she glared at the bespectacled woman. "I will still appeal! This is not fair!" Vania got up from her seat.
She stepped out of the HR room. Vania is looking for the director of her company. She had to meet with Widi Setyanti, who is the director of the private television company where Vania works.
However, meeting Widi is something difficult. Even though you are an employee, you still have to make meeting hours.
Vania lined up in front of Widi's secretary's desk. She asked to be scheduled to meet with Widi.
"Later, Vania. Because today Mrs. Widi is very busy, "explained the secretary.
"About what time isn't it busy? This is very important," said Vania honestly. Her face was a little sad.
"Hmm, just a minute. I'll check first. Sit down first, Vania, "said the secretary.
Vania feels grateful because Mrs. Widi's secretary is considered good. At least she is not affected by the gossip circulating about Vania.
Vania sat and waited for the results of the secretary's discussion. After half an hour, the secretary called Vania.
"How? What time anyway?" asked Vania hopefully. She wanted to meet Mrs. Widi as soon as possible.
"Well, Vanya. Don't be angry, okay?" said the secretary. "Mrs. Widi said, you've been fired, haven't you?"
"Ah, that," Vania was silent. She had just received a letter of dismissal. "I want to talk about the letter to her. I think there is a misinterpretation about me. I want to clear it."
"She's busy. She said She didn't want to spend time other than with her clients," explained the secretary. "Sorry, Vanya. I can't help you. My job is limited to this."
Vania looked down. However, she didn't want to give up. She had to meet Mrs. Widi as soon as possible.
"Can I wait here?" she asked. "I'm waiting for a taxi."
"Oh, okay," said the secretary. "Please."
Vania sat in the waiting room. She pretended to be playing on her cell phone while watching the director's office door.
About half an hour, the director's office door opened. There was a guest out and the director escorted her.
Vania immediately got up from her seat. She ran as fast as she could and grabbed the director's hand.
"Mrs. Widi, excuse me. I want to talk," said Vania quickly.
She did not wait at all for guests to leave before the director. She immediately spoke according to what was on her mind.
Of course Widi was taken aback. The woman glared at Vania.
Unfortunately, Vania didnn't want to care about that. She instead continued her complaint.
"Mrs. Widi, please review my dismissal letter. I didn't do anything wrong," said Vania loudly. "I have never violated a work contract and all my work is good. It's not fair if you give me a letter of dismissal like this."
"Vania, we'll talk about it later. I'm busy," replied Widi. She started to break out in cold sweat and tried to pull her hand away from Vania's grip.
"No, Ma'am!" said Vania. She still tightly gripped Widi's arm. This time, Vania's grip was even stronger.
"We have to finish all of this now. It's about my rights as an employee. As a media company, it should not be like this in attitude. This dismissal violates the labor regulations. I can sue in court."
"Let go!" Widi was so furious. She couldn't contain her emotions. "You know manners, don't you?"
"Ma'am has to take responsibility. I will demand all of this to the end!" Vania threatened. She stared blankly at Widi who clearly didn't care about her. "Is this how you work? Being picky about people who are much closer in person? This is very unprofessional!"
"Watch your words, Vania. I have a guest now!" yelled Widi. She glared sharply. Her gaze shifted to his secretary.
"Hey! Get her out of here! Why are you silent? Fast!"
"Ah, yes, Ma'am," said the secretary. She jogged towards Vania and took Vania by the hand. "Let's go. Don't bother her."
"No! I won't! She violated my rights as a worker! This is not in accordance with the employment contract agreement," Vania pushed the secretary away from her.
She approached Widi and pointed at Widi's face roughly. "I need clarity. This kind of attitude is unprofessional!"
"What other clarity?" replied Widi. "Really! HRD didn't give you reasons why you deserved to be fired?"
Vania was stunned for a moment. Indeed, the HRD gave a reason. However, that reason was too personal.
"The reason doesn't make sense," said Vania. "The company criticized my personal life. In fact, my performance here is good. This is not fair."
"Your bad nature makes the company's name bad," said Widi. "If the company keeps you, the company name will be affected. Other employees too. This affects the psychological aspect of the company. Understand?"
"NO!" Vania replied. She still wouldn't accept such an excuse.
"What is this? Why so noisy?" scold someone.
Vania turned to the source of the voice. Hayam seemed to step closer with a friendly smile on his face.
"Oh, Hayam," said Widi friendly. She immediately shook hands and hugged Hayam.
Vania stepped aside for a moment. She brushed her hair back and looked away. In her heart, Vania did not think that Hayam would come and meet Widi.
"How are you?" Hayam asked Widi. He glanced briefly at Vania. "Why are you fighting with this young reporter of yours?"
"Oh, I'm fine," Widi turned to Vania. She chuckled with a frown on her face looking at Vania. "She just fired me for making my company name bad. Now she is angry. She didn't agree with the decision at all. In fact, all managerial levels agree with this decision."
Hayam's brow furrowed. He stared at Vania for a moment.
"I know her," said Hayam. "I think she is a good and honest worker. She is hardworking and reliable. Yesterday I even offered her to be part of my PR team."
Widi's eyes widened. She did not think that Hayam knew Vania.
"You really made such an offer to her?" replied Widi in disbelief.
Hayam nodded his head. "Right. Unfortunately, Vania refused," said Hayam sadly. "That's why I called you back last night. I would like to accept your offer of cooperation to cover my campaign program with a note that Vania must be the reporter."
Widi swallowed her saliva which tasted bitter. She still couldn't believe what was in front of her.
"If for example Vania is expelled from this company, I will also cancel our cooperation contract," said Hayam honestly. "I will recruit Vania as my employee and I will transfer my project tender to another company that has a better image than this company."
"Oh, maybe," replied Widi as quickly as lightning. "Vania didn't get fired."
"Re-really?" Vania was amazed by what she had just heard. She was happy because she didn't get fired.
"Yeah, you didn't get fired. Happy, right?" said Widi frowned.
Vania nodded her head. At least she has a permanent job and is not stranded as unemployed.
Actually, Vania refuses Hayam's offer because Hayam's job is temporary. When the campaign and regional head elections are over, the work of Hayam's PR team will also end. In fact, Vania has to keep getting paid to pay the mortgage on her house. "Does that mean I tore up this letter of dismissal? Isn't this letter invalid?" Vania replied.
"Yes, just tear it," said Widi. She couldn't help but give permission to Vania to tear up the letter of dismissal.
An idea crossed Vania's head. She handed the dismissal letter to Widi. "You just tore it," said Vania. "I recorded it."
"It means?" Widi looked at Vania frantically.
"I must have authentic evidence that I was not fired and will continue to work here for the next ten years. You must say it while tearing this letter. That way, I have real evidence," explained Vania. "Would you like to do it?"
