Chapter 7 - Episode 3 - Shina's Master Class Start

Yggdrasil Year 1631, Month 3, Day 2

"Excuse me? What's just happened!?"

"Is the information true?"

The word of the Beaufort Family succeded in coup d'etat against the Castelie Family two weeks ago reaches the ears of the Kingdom of Arminia. People began to show unrest as they knew well what happened to the Beaufort Family several years ago. Having demoted to a Baron from Archduke makes them vow for vengeance against Castelie.

The Countries on the Arteria Continent, which houses the Kingdom of Aldenbourne, Tauntburn, Arminia, Midgard, and the Indexa Kingdom, were the ones who affected the most. On the other hand, the countries outside Arteria Continent were not affected.

Scharlwarltz maintains a diplomatic relationship with the Kingdom of Aldenbourne, and they do not take any movements after the coup due to neutrality.

Kurt already received the information from the Sera Lexington a day after the coup, as the Lexington Family were keeping themselves updated by contacting relatives. Sera took action by strengthening defenses around Hereford to prevent any outlaws from taking advantage of the chaos around Aldenbourne.

Inside the Lexington Manor Library, Shina is reading some magic books. It's been two years, and the progress of Klendiana and Reynes Lexington is something that she can't ignore.

"Hmm…. It seems both of them can accelerate to Master-class training. Reynes just needs to pass some aspects on Expert-class before advancing to Master-class. Other than that, he's good."

Shina separates the category of study into six classes. The six classes, according to Shina, are Beginner, Standard, Intermediate, Advanced, Expert, and Master. Klendiana passes the five previous classes in three years, while Reynes has yet to pass all Expert classes after two years. Kurt would handle weapon training, Yuki would handle academics, and Shina would handle magic training.

"I think it would be an uproar when both Klendiana and Reynes attend the school."

Shina closed the magic book and opened the draft for her Master's class. For this Master's class, she wants to be the toughest one, but that means she has to inform Luciana to send out Valkyries to combat Klendiana and Reynes.

"This may be extreme, but…."

Furthermore, she received a letter from Armenia Royal Academy stating that she would take office as Lecturer to teach the Arminia students about magic starting next year. She did this to create a suitable draft so that the student could keep up with her lesson. She looks up, aware that Luciana is watching her.

"Don't stare at me, Your Majesty. I know you're watching me."

Luciana giggled as she turned off the Fountain of Clairvoyance. It would seem that Shina had a hard time preparing lessons for Lexington Family and her daughter, Dawn.

"Work hard, Shina."

--

Shina reserved the entire training ground on Shills' military base the next day once the Shills Town Guard finished their training. The soldier and magicians of Shills were eager to see Shina's standard when training the Lexington Family.

"Hey, look at them."

"It looks like something big is about to happen."

Shina stood up in front of Reynes and Klendiana. She deploys a magic barrier surrounding training grounds to prevent collateral damage.

"The lesson I would give you today is simple, [Magic Disruption: Overload]."

Shina casts magic overload on Reynes and Klendiana, making them groan in pain.

"You won't be able to enter Master class if you can't maintain magic overload in an expert scale."

Since Reynes and Klendiana have a lot of magic power, magicians from Shills Town Guard can sense the magic overload. They were on alert as soon as they could sense Reynes and Klendiana's magic power went out of control.

"There were some magicians capable of overloading your magic power by tinkering or disrupting your magic power flow. Based on the knowledge you've learned from the past three years, I suppose you can handle this. Remember that there were some situations where your magic would go out of control either because of environment or other magician abilities that has this spell."

From Klendiana and Reynes' perspective, it could be a reversal effect of magic suppression. But, from a deeper perspective, they found anger, rage, lust, and anything that could lead them to unleash more power.

For Klendiana, instead of bursting it out, she slowly absorbs it as she embraces her inner mind. As a sign that she controls her emotions and power, she unleashes barrages of the elemental strike.

"[Elemental Barrage!!]"

She fires the elemental barrage towards the target set by Shina. The destruction is enormous, and if Shina didn't reinforce the barrier, it would cause damage to the training ground. On the other hand, Reynes still struggles to maintain his magic power. He's struggling, but somehow, he can keep up with the pressure.

Klendiana already mastered the magic flow, as she could quickly convert the magic overload for her spells.

"I need more pressure."

"You're asked for it."

When Shina chants another Magic Overload, Klendiana can feel enormous pain. Rather than breaking it out in a spell this time, Klendiana slowly adjusts the flow, and the overload dissipates. As the magic overload dissipates, she sits on the ground, panting.

"You're forcing yourself too much. I think I should stop this session for… What the?"

When Shina and Klendiana look at Reynes, they see his magic power slowly gathering around his body. Reynes slowly absorbed it, and a layer was formed around his body. After he created the layer, it dissipated as he fell, exhausted.

"My, you're like your sister, are you?"

"Uh…"

Reynes can't get up since his current magic power capacity is not enough to make a full containment when his magic went overload.

"Stay there for thirty minutes."

After thirty minutes, Reynes gets back up again, but his body is too hurt to continue.

"That's what happens when you can't maintain your magic power in an overload state. Your sister barely can keep up with it."

Klendiana catches her breath as she drinks some water, exhausted from today's session. Shina gave them an assessment.

"Both of your magic power capacity continues to increase every day. However, for this Master class itself, you have to go beyond a hundred percent. This means that if you can't break your current limit, then you won't be able to take my Master class difficulty."

"I understand… Thank you for the lesson, Teacher Shina."

"I will take my leave, then. I have some matters to attend to."

Once Shina leaves using a crystal ball, both Reynes and Klendiana look at each other as the barrier dissipates. They were sitting on the ground, regaining stamina from the immense training.

"So, this is the taste of the Master class."

"She's just a fortune teller, sis."

"Well. Your power went out of control, do you?"

"I thought I could control it properly."

"That's because you need more training than I do. Maybe you can try augmentation on the weapon later."

"That sounds interesting."

They return home not long after that.

Several Days Later, Ancardia Royal Palace Training Ground

"Get the barrier up!"

Dawn's phoenix flame went out of control again as she struggled to maintain her power. With the combination of Luciana, Marietta, and Randgris' barrier, the damage was put to a minimum, and she was exhausted once there were no longer any outbursts on her power.

"Dawn, you need to master magic control in Advanced class before you can proceed like this."

"How am I supposed to do?"

"Keep trying. I know this is a unique case, but I must not neglect it since we're talking about how you would maintain your power."

Dawn can only sulk hearing that. But, one that caught her attention was when she received a blessing from the church around a year ago.

"Teacher. Can I learn healing magic?"

"Why do you want to learn that? You know your current magic power, right?"

"Is it wrong for me to learn as much as I could?"

Shina can only think about it. Dawn's power is unstable, but it won't stop her from taking more lessons.

"I will see if I have some free schedule."

"Thank you."

Dawn is stuck in Intermediate and Advanced class on learning magic and its spells. Shina won't enlist Dawn in Advanced class if she can't contain the flow of magic.

"It's tiring training these three."

Sighing, Shina returned to the palace and went to her room to rest.
