As the servants feared, Tania did intend to trick the people in Wereal against each other. It is not yet obvious what her goal is, and how she will do it. But for sure on many occasions, she would cling to Lyra and wouldn't let her go.
Lyra sees it as a form of worry about adapting, something that often happens to introverts. So she continues to accompany and encourage Tania. "You'll be fine. Don't worry, I'm here!" said Lyra on many occasions.
Brunch was available. Gerald and Weggie huddled together to spend some time alone. After seeing the closeness of Tania and Lyra, they thought that Tania had finally realized her mistake.
"I'm grateful!" whispered Gerald, seeing it.
Weggie is a person who can't easily believe someone's change, even though Tania's change in attitude surprised her. But it makes more sense than evil Tania suddenly turns good.
