Chapter 2 - The day I realized I have amnesia

Ugh... My head, feels like it's been hit by a huge rock. Good thing it's still intact, but it feels like it's about to break any minute now. I try to use my full power to get up, but I was still so weak. I only managed to stand while crouching, rubbing my head as I slowly open my eyes.

As I open them, I was finally able to see where I was. It looks like I'm inside a cave or something, which is weird because... I don't remember being here or how I got here.

Wait... I... I don't remember anything, what? That's impossible! There's no way, did I got amnesia? How can this be...

Okay-Okay calm down, freaking out won't get me anywhere. Now, I just have to calm down and start thinking. Hm... Ugh, nothing; guess that means I do have amnesia.

And still, why am I doing in a cave? It looks more like a destroyed building with nothing but it's remnants scattered everywhere, why I know? That's mystery to me as well. Ugh gods, having amnesia is the worse. You don't remember who you are, where you came from, or your family.

Wait, do I have a family? I... Think so, yeah I do have a family; but I can't remember them. But still, I do remember a few things like the city, the bustling streets, and the cool machines everywhere. Yeah, now I remember - I'm from the city. New York city to be precise, yeah... I know who I am. I'm Bolt Olympia and I'm 15 years old, and... That's all I could remember.

Darn it, I was so close. I thought for sure I could remember, well... I guess I shouldn't rush it. Maybe it will come to me.

I decided to explore the cave and find my way out, maybe I can find help somewhere - wherever I am.

I walk forwards with absolutely no idea where I'm going, except following a strong light coming towards the front. Wherever there's light, there's always an exit - and that's exactly where I'm going.

As I walk trough the cave, I remember the remnants I saw while I managed to wake up. The more I kept going, the more remnants I keep encountering. There were all sorts of broken marbles and statues everywhere I look, they look like something you find in a museum but completely broken to pieces. Now I'm 100% certain this isn't a cave, but if I'm right - I think I might be in some kind of ancient temple that's been destroyed centuries ago. Seriously? Why do I know these things?

Which makes it so crazy, now I really want to know how and why I'm here. And the only way to find out, is to see where in the world am I.

After a few minutes walk, I was finally able to find the exit. Thank gods, I thought I was gonna be stuck here forever.

The exit really does looked like a temple entrance but with broken doors, so my hunch must be right.

I made my way to the exit, and as soon as my eyes are able to adjust to the bright light outside. I was finally able to see where I was, which... is something I was not expecting.

Outside, I realized I'm on a tall mountain overlooking a huge forest. It's unbelievable, and I'm not making this up. I can almost see everything, except for a city or town. Who am I kidding, this doesn't look like a place where you can find one. In fact... It looks so - ancient, no offense.

The whole place wasn't just covered by forest, it was also dominated by huge mountains just like this one. And the weather here is so hot, it makes being in that temple a lot more comfortable. And what's more, I can actually see the ocean - it's far but I can still see it.

Am I... Did I got stranded on an island or something? No, an island wouldn't be this huge and I wouldn't be stranded on a temple rather than on a seashore.

This whole mystery just keeps getting more mysterious by the minute, I'm a city boy and I can tell we're not in a city area, but man; now I don't know anymore.

"Man... This is crazy... This is definitely not America, where am I? Not only did I got amnesia and got stranded on a destroyed temple, but I'm totally in the middle of nowhere. Can this get any worse... Wait- is that..."

I look over the forest and saw what it looks like some kind of town, or... So I think. It looks like a town, but the buildings there looked again - ancient. Seriously, that couldn't be right? Maybe they're tribal people, people who still lives in a- sigh... You know what never mind. I think you get the picture.

Anyway, I have hope that maybe if I go there; I can find someone who can help me and maybe try to recover my memories while I'm at it. I can kill two birds with one stone, I mean - solve two problems with one solutions. Yeah, that's what I mean. At least now I know, I go to school if I know these words.

Only one problem...

"WOAH!!!"

Yup, this mountain is super steep. I almost fall just by trying to look closer on the edge, luckily it looks like I'm pretty good at keeping my balance. Otherwise I'll fall straight down, with either death or broken bones on the list. I seriously don't want that.

So, instead of jumping one step at a time recklessly; I decided to find another way down.

I look down to see if there's another route I can take, mountains are suppose to have at least one smooth road or maybe edges I can climb down to. But, this mountain only have hard rough edges and roads that can seriously mess me up. In other word is... There is no other way.

"This is great, now what do I do?" I thought to myself.

Suddenly, I heard noises coming from bellow. "Huh?" I looked down again and saw a cart trailing a road trough the mountains, "Unbelievable, there's a cart all the way up here on the mountain?"

Weird... A cart? I didn't think people still used them, but still... Whoever's driving that cart might help me get off of this mountain. Might as well give it a shot, so I decided to called to whoever it is. "HEY! HELLO THERE! UP HERE!"

But the cart didn't stop, looks like the person didn't hear me and the cart is already far from me. I panic, so I decided to run after it from above.

As I was running I kept calling out to the person, "EXCUSE ME! CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME? I'M LOST!" And still the person didn't hear me, I was starting to get desperate - to the point I'm actually thinking of jumping off for real to get the person's attention. But that's just crazy, that's just me asking for a death wish.

While I was thinking, I didn't realized that I was standing off the path. I look down and realized, 'I'm going to fall aren't I?"

And with that, I really did fall. "ARRRGGGHHH!!!!!"

I closed my eyes, not wanting to know where I'll land. Wherever it is, it's not going to be good.

I wonder if I'll really fall to my death, that's going to be so pathetic. And I still haven't find out who I am, or how I got amnesia. Is this... Really the end?

"Woah bro... You're quite the handful than I thought"

"Huh?" I open my eyes out of shock, I could have sworn I heard a voice just now.

Before I can think any further, I realized that I wasn't falling anymore. In fact, I already landed on some nice hay stack. Which is weird, "Huh? H-How did I-"

"Hey! Who in the world are you?" A voice yelled from out of nowhere.

I looked up and saw a man eyeing me with an angry look, I realized now that I have landed on a cart. The same cart that I was trying to get help from, how in the world did I managed to land here? And who was that voice just now?

"Hello, kid. Are you listening?" The man asked.

"Huh? Oh, uh... Yeah. Sorry sir, I didn't mean to crash on your cart but I really need your help." I begged him.

"What? Help?" He questioned and I nodded.

Whatever or whoever help me land here, I will think about it later. Right now, since I finally managed to land here; I might as well take advantage of it and asked this nice sir for help. So I began telling him my story about how I ended on an abandoned temple and how I lost my memory, for a while he was quite - I was starting to think maybe he didn't want to help me.

If that's the case, then how in the world am I going to find help now?
