The next day, Louisa left as early as 7:00 AM with Rochester. They set out for his town and entered Aegremonth barely an hour after noon. Louisa at the time had started to feel itchy all the way down her throat. And it wasn't for a reason other than she needed to talk to him. In their six-hour-long jaunt, neither had spoken a word nor even brought up talks about Adelaide.

Louisa turned toward him, seeking to break the back of the mule. She said, "You did not answer me yesterday based on what I said."

"What did you say?" Rochester sighed and muttered. His voice sounded breathy which goes to show how he did not want to engage in any talk with her. He would not even look at her, he left his eyes stationed in front.

Louisa, reclining into the chair, said nothing at best.

"You know, it would have been better you left the quiet as it was," Rochester said, "if you knew you were going to turn mute the instant I returned your question."
