Outside, the feisty heat was jamming onto her hairline. She —who was nervously walking over the prairie for the last few minutes — stopped, and turned. She felt it; her eager heart vanishing into her ribs, as she pried her sockets down the stoned-wall corridor. Her stomach bucked; it was the anxiety kicking in, as she did not see HER coming. SHE should be there by now; that was what they'd agreed.

Though Louisa had not told her the reason she wished to depart from the house, Brightfin had agreed to help her. She wasn't stupid, she was simply kind to a fault and always, well, willing to help.
