Chapter 48 - 48

Elaine sat on the garden chair.

It was situated at the heart of the garden. As the late Madam Ye was an enthusiast of roses, she made a garden full of it.

The gazebo was a place for her to relax and unwind.

Louise followed Elaine's suit wordlessly. She was not good in talking with strangers and even some people felt she's a little cold.

Butler Wu personally served the two ladies. As much as he was unwilling to serve Louise, he had no choice because Augustus told him to. His job is his priority and he could not mess it up just because he felt prejudiced about her.

"Thank you Grandpa Wu." Elaine thanked the butler as she sipped her rose tea gracefully.

Louise got a sip but frowned. She's not a fan of rose tea. She liked lavender. But the scenery here is great and she liked it so she didn't mind the rose tea in front of her.

She picked up the macaroons in front of her and took a bit then, she put it down.

Different people really had different tastes.

Elaine glanced at her from time to time. This woman is beautiful, most of it, she's quite young. So she decided to fish some information about her.

"Ms. Louise, it's just the two of us here. Might as well we talk. I found you quite pleasing to my eyes." Elaine started.

"What about it?" Louise asked back.

"Where are you from?" Elaine asked. "Well, don't mind me, I often travel so I want to know what kind of place you came from." Elaine had a faint laugh on her tone.

"I'm from Country P." She said then stayed silent afterwards.

A pro conversation killer. Elaine was stumped but as she was quite enthusiastic, she talked again..

"Country P? I've been there. That country is so beautiful and I haven't travelled half of it." Elaine said with a pity. She sipped her tea and waited for Louise to continue their talk but after sometime, she didn't hear a thing.

Louise was lost in her own thoughts while she circled her right thumb on the lip of the cup.

It has been so long since she visited her own country.

She looked at Elaine and remembered that they were talking.

"En. I haven't gone back. It's been 6 years already." She said after sometime.

"Is that so? Then, did you migrate here when you were little?" Elaine asked with so much curiosity.

"You can call it that way..." She said as her voice trailed off again.

Being smuggled out of Country P and went here, can be considered migration, right?

"Then, what do your parents do?" Elaine asked without thinking.

This question made her frown. She quite get where this lead to but she didn' care. Might as well treat her as a target practice.

"They already dead. I am alone now." Louise directly said.

There was a pregnant pause in the air. Elaine felt awkward as she didn't know if she will apologize or not.

Louise took a small sip of tea to moisten her lips.

Butler Wu then walked briskly towards a certain direction as he saw Augustus coming.

" Young Master, the ladies are at the gazebo." He said as he let him pass through then followed him.

Augustus walked steadily towards Louise. He didn't even bother to greet Elaine.

"Enjoying?" He asked.
