Outside the house was chaotic and amidst, Augustus slipped Louise to the car. Lucia walked faster under the protection of Augustus' bodyguards.
She got inside the passenger seat.
"Drive!" Augustus roared.
His secretary floored the gas pedal even before Lucia could buckle up.
He noticed that amongst those men were carrying guns with silencers.
He could not gamble her safety. He needed to get her out first.
Anyway, his men were all professionally trained so he did not worry that they would lose.
"Where are we going now Master?" His secretary asked as they had plans before this.
"Back to the house first." The man said with a heavy voice.
The secretary heeded his order and drove away.
Lucia had been silent throughout the whole time.
She knew that this man had a status. His temperament of a noble master couldn't be hidden at all even when he tried to dress simply.
He had that innate aura of a ruler and leader. Lucia knew as Jonas had it too.
Those men who were at the top had this kind of aura.
Lucia sighed and it didn't go unnoticed by Lander, the secretary.
"Don't worry. We will keep you safe both. Master had a tight security at the manor." Lander said as he tried to calm Lucia down.
"I know. I'll trust you and Augustus." Lucia said even though she knew she was gambling to take sides.
Louise's safety is the priority for now andd wether Augustus is a friend or foe, she will resolve it later.
Lander didn't talk after that. His whole focus was on the road as there were vehicles tailing them.
Some of those men caught up. They fired shots towards them but their car had a bulletproof glass and body.
The sound of the bullets colliding with the car's body resounded throughout their whole journey.
Lucia tried not to scream as Lander swerved and overtook many cars.
"Shake them off." Augustus clasped Louise towards him. His trembling hands betrayed his agitation.
Lander floored the gas pedal once more and the car shoot up. The cars who tailed them, stopped over at the intersection as the train passed.
The men shouted and cursed.
Lander and Lucia breathed out. Her hands that were clasping the backpack were wet and clammy. It was the proof that she was not calm at all.
After 20 minutes of driving, Lucia looked at the scenery outside and noticed that the place were like a forest but there were lamps all over the place.
Snow had been falling. The dense trees were covered in white.
Lucia shivered at the coldness and Lander noticed it. He turned the heater on as he drove towards a majestic gate.
As they were approaching, the guard noticed Augustus' car and opened the gate. He was perplexed as to why his boss came back too early.
But it was not his concern. He closed the door after the car passed by.
After a while, they arrived at a huge english manor.
"Master, we're here." Lander reminded the silent man.
Lander got out from the car and opened the door for Augustus.
Lucia also pushed the door open and got out.
