Chapter 20 - There Are Some Things You Don't Seem To Know

The man was the boss of this resort. He was slightly plump and had a few strands of white hair mixed in his black hair. His eyes shone with the light of a businessman, and under the light, there was something dark.

He scanned Song Wei from head to toe and nodded with obvious satisfaction.

"I've long heard of President Song's name. It's said that she's a successful and capable woman, but I didn't expect her to be so young and beautiful. If I had a wife as delicate as President Song, I definitely wouldn't be willing to let you work," he said with a smile, extending his hand to shake Song Wei's hand.

Song Wei did not take his polite words to heart. She reached out and shook his hand symbolically. "CEO Zhang is too polite. Please take a seat."

After Zhang Deli sat down, his eyes were glued to Song Wei. He secretly gave his secretary a look.

Song Wei was flipping through the contract.

The secretary picked up the red wine that had been placed on the table for a long time, opened the bottle, and poured two glasses of red wine. His hand brushed past the edge of the wine glass, and a clear drop of liquid fell from his fingers into the glass.

"President Song, please." He smiled warmly and placed the wine glass in front of Song Wei.

Song Wei was caught off guard and hurriedly accepted the wine glass. "Thank you."

She placed the red wine on the table first.

She placed the sorted contract on the table and smiled faintly. She looked at Zhang Deli. "CEO Zhang, please look at this contract. If there's no problem, we can directly sign it."

She only wanted to sign the contract now.

The earlier she was done, the cleaner she would be. Once she signed it, the weight on her heart would be lifted.

"There's no rush." Zhang Deli looked at her serious expression and pushed the glass of red wine before Song Wei with a smile. "Chairman Song, you can have a taste of this red wine first. I brought it back from Italy, and it tastes great."

He had already invited her. If Song Wei did not try it, it would be disrespectful.

"Is that so? Then I have to try it." Song Wei smiled and put down the contract before taking a sip.

A strange taste instantly spread from her mouth, along the tip of her tongue to her heart and lungs.

Song Wei couldn't help but frown. She put down the wine glass and looked at Zhang Deli in confusion. "What wine is this? It tastes weird."

"You'll get used to it." Zhang Deli was still smiling and there was nothing unusual about him.

Song Wei smiled.

She suddenly felt a little uncomfortable, but she couldn't pinpoint the exact problem.

She wanted to settle the current affair as soon as possible. She reached out and pushed the contract in front of Zhang Deli. "CEO Zhang, take a look at the contract."

Zhang Deli looked at Song Wei and saw that her face was getting redder and her gaze was getting blurry. His gaze became more impudent.

He stood up and walked to Song Wei. He placed his hand on Song Wei's shoulder and patted her. He smiled and said, "President Song, you don't get contracts signed like this. There are some things that you don't seem to know…"

Song Wei felt dizzy.

Looking at Zhang Deli's smiling face, she then looked at her secretary, who was standing at the side, and she thought of that strange gaze from before. She had a bad feeling.

She knew about the unspoken rules in the business world.

However, she never expected that someone would dare to target her. After all, she was Lu Chengchen's wife.

"President Zhang, what are you talking about? We've already discussed it earlier. There are no additional conditions." She smiled good-naturedly.

At this point, she was like a sheep that had fallen into the wolf's mouth. She could only smile and play dumb to stall for time.

Zhang Deli grabbed her arm, lifted her up, and walked towards the elevator. He said in a harsh tone, "You'll know what I'm talking about later."

Song Wei felt something was wrong.

"Let go of me!" She wanted to struggle, but she had no strength. Zhang Deli half dragged half lugged her forward, and her steps were unstable.

Zhang Deli dragged her into the elevator.
