Charlene held back, then said, "I'll be done soon and head back. Take care of yourself."
She picked a random topic and rambled a bit before hanging up.
She looked lost and devastated, as if struck by something heavy.
She wanted to ask him why he treated her like this. She believed she hadn't done anything wrong.
She was unwilling, but she walked back to the door of the private room. This time, she could hear Qin Zhen and his friends laughing and joking loudly.
"Qin Zhen, seriously, are you for real? You're so attentive to that rich girl," one of Qin Zhen's friends suddenly said.
His words made Charlene freeze in her tracks. Her heart pounded harder, as if getting closer to the truth.
