Shu Pan arrived at the company and, after meeting with them, headed straight for the airport.
Lu Lei and Shu Pan sat in the back of the car, with secretary Yang in the passenger seat.
Throughout the journey, no one spoke, and there was an awkward silence in the car.
Finally, it was Lu Lei who broke the silence, "Shu Pan, how many days will you be on your business trip? Will your family be able to manage without you?"
Shu Pan had been looking out of the window, but hearing Lu Lei's question, she turned her head and replied with a faint smile, "Director Lu, I have everything arranged at home, it's fine."
"That's good. I only found out today that you were the one going on the trip with me. Considering you have a family, it's irresponsible of them to assign you to a business trip for such a long time," Lu Lei said, recalling his surprise when he saw Shu Pan earlier that day, thinking he had seen wrong.
